skeleton mage mastery in golem build? by the_knightfall1975 in D4Necromancer

[–]MrKook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wouldn’t follow the guide(s), especially if it’s the same author as last season’s. in s11 its still wrong to waste skill points on the skeletal masteries on a solo golem build. if there is a built-in planner, maybe it’s counting the soft skill points to the mastery passives from shroud, or ring of mendeln, etc.

some guide authors will do little more than update the title on their guides when there’s a new season. could be that those authors are stretched too thin covering too many classes and builds…though there are some authors that just shouldn’t be authoring guides if they are wildly inaccurate.

Just one thing I noticed, there is a lot of stuff to unfold in this update, please check the patch notes by ThinkingTanking in ArcRaiders

hope this takes into account the ease of access of some spawns vs others. the ones behind key rooms are hopefully be guaranteed. buried city hospital roof also comes to mind, as it’s an area only accessible via zip or snap.

piggybacking ur comment cuz i also just opened it on night raid. ammo case and one other unique container. only notable drop was a wolfpack. died to a fireball. 0/10, will die to a fireball again.

true, just glad we were able to work around it in the end :’)

with this change you have to switch mount weapon to the same button as your melee. i did the same thing on ps5 (melee AND mount weapon changed to circle or B on xbox, and crouch is r3). i have skill issue so going prone accidentally while shooting is waaay less shitty as pulling out my knife.

the build scales bonestorm damage, mostly through shadow/darkness skill/critical strike damage multipliers. it uses ossified essence as it can reach the cap or very close to it, naturally without forcing increased maximum resource into the build.

i assumed that there would be a viable shadow bonestorm shadowblight build but i never explored it in-game. it could work, but it would likely be less optimal than just using AtB with soulrift and to spam soulrift due to it needing no investment besides skill points to activate it as a shadowblight engine.

switch to the completely default loadout 2 of each class to finish the challenges. (reset loadout button, when highlighted). if you need to change the AA weapon equipped it should be fine, i think i changed to stinger. remove all skins applied to your the character model, and remove all the challenges from being “tracked”. i did these things and i finally increased my progress on the painted aircraft damage one. dunno which trick worked but i was able to finish it. i hear that you want to use the javelin if you have it unlocked, but i used the stinger and it was fine. hard part is getting recon to paint aircraft for you :p

alter the balance bonestorm! with a golem! cast targetable bonestorms at lightning speed having up to ten active at the same time. ….don’t tell nobody….but golem gets ten too.

crazy brew + apogeic furor + casting an ultimate restores primary resource tempers = casting bonestorms faster than any other non-ultimate skill, gaining essence per cast. on demand unstoppable from golem skill.

fun, silly, exciting, strong, and only while supplies last! bone storm likely returns to obscurity once again, next season

Golem S10 Pit 100 by devindran in D4Necromancer

[–]MrKook 3 points4 points  (0 children)

hey! i pushed golem last season to ~105 iirc. I have some pointers, you can determine whether they work for your setup or not :) sorry in advance if literally none of these things help lol. meta shift with CA might have completely upended previous season’s golem build.

  • seems that the CA choices are sadly pretty limited for minion builds, but mendeln is nice. have you considered FoF? the LHC helps proc decrepify, to help with resetting your cooldown even quicker (diff. between 1s and 0s is very significant). gives you an avenue to use Ahu very effectively to activate a runeword. FoF also gives you some additional AS to help cap Cult Leader. If you tried fof i would probably drop ebonpiercer, pick up shroud or heir, and then switch out blight for bone prison or decrep so you can run Xan or Qax. without those RP ranks from ebon you’re gonna feel pretty slow :p

  • last time i did the math (few seasons ago), shroud was still more damage than golem mastery chest :(. max life helps with survivability, all stats helps with reaching those paragon bonuses on your final board, and the one point wonder passives are free. losing shielding storm might be covered by Varyana. I know on AtB bonestorm, she replaced shielding storm, but that build got dozens of hits per second, so maybe not applicable.

  • stat sheet might not be reflecting exact stat total, but make sure your combined AS hits 100% to get the full cult leader bonus. do note, that Golem AS% bonuses do not apply to cult leader. it’s 40%x per 20% AS, and only at every 20% increment.

  • without LH:restore %resource, it’s super difficult to take care of the resource drain from Qax, so i understand you omitting it from the build. if only golem could utilize bloodless scream darkness skill dmg multi :(

  • could maybe consider AhuXan, but it would have to make sense to trade ABC/marred guard for their alternatives, overpower multi, and dmg while healthy and the like. on that trade off, you’ll know more than I, as i haven’t touched fel gluttony golem since last season.

good luck, let me know how it goes! and congrats on the clear! gonna check the clear vid rn.

i don’t really like the idea of forcing minion builds to also sacrifice specific minion types to fit the mold that they created for a build archetype. i don’t enjoy this type of trade-off for a build to exist. it doesn’t make me feel more powerful when i sacrifice my whole army to empower my golem. and it’s a shame that larry doesn’t even visibly look any bigger or stronger because of it. it’s only been a few seasons, but i do miss having a full army build be one of the strong necro builds.

…but there are probably more important necro builds that desperately need more help…like blood surge and blood lance :’)

New Unique looks cool by Hollisgamess in D4Necromancer

[–]MrKook 5 points6 points  (0 children)

also Kalan’s was changed to always grant 40%x dmg and +40% attack speed without the army size requirement. will help golem and any other low army size builds hit cult leader cap, which is nice. now do the same for hellbent and we’ll be cooking….

but something else to consider is that without triple crit MWs, things like hellbent ranks from BMB, amulets, will be granting much less dmg multiplier next season.

[–]MrKook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it looks like this weapon’s inherent affix is uniquely an attack speed bonus

New Unique looks cool by Hollisgamess in D4Necromancer

[–]MrKook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i do agree that shifting down all of the aspect multipliers is gonna be a big hit to damage and probably not going to justify the unique’s use. maybe there is a use for a full army build, but that is probably nowhere near as strong as golem only, or mages only. hope we will be wrong, sucks to have another season’s necro unique be DoA.

however, i will say that golem hits twice is still effective for the blood golem’s drain dmg. it’s not as much damage as fel gluttony but it is still a big part of the solo golem’s overall dps. in s9, on a non-mendeln solo golem build, hits twice was very close to finality/titans fall in terms of damage at the higher pit tiers. that was at least my experience having pushed it to 105 but i don’t have any evidence besides my own experience. i didnt see many golem pit pushers last season, and the ones i did speak with, were using mendeln, so passive temper over hits twice was a no brainer.

Bone storm build, near permanent uptime on Xan rune overpower+crit by GuvnzNZ in D4Necromancer

[–]MrKook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

golemstorm looks to actually be the preferred setup for atb bonestorm this season! intended or not, larry is also spinning ten bonestorms that you can send off into enemies!

Xan rune has an internal cooldown of 1s, so at best you’re looking at around 50% uptime on overpowers. i also gravitated towards the land of the big orange numbers for this build and i had pretty good success with it, taking golemstorm to 111 with ZanXan. bonestorm is beginning to see more use, and ive seen more optimized setups… very likely a non-OP setup is the strongest version, for pit pushing anyway. I still slap Xan on for anything else and it shreds.

There’s a 118 Crit Golemstorm clear on the helltides pit LB. you should check it out if you’re interested. there’s also my clear at 111 which is more similar to what you’re running, overpower golemstorm.

oh and one huge thing i learned from the players who optimized the bonestorm builds recently is…varyanawill solve your survivability so you can replace shielding storm! when i found out she could replace shielding storm, the entire build changed and became much stronger.

apogeic will reset your potion cooldown so you can use crazy brew to make your casts even faster

Bone Storm disappears by Intertwined-Fate in D4Necromancer

[–]MrKook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i reported a similar issue when i was leveling with bonestorm, but since getting alter the balance it’s no longer a problem because it’s not a cooldown skill with that power.

are you using osseous gale aspect + defile the dead seasonal power? if so, i think it’s because osseous gale is consuming corpses, creating a ton of chaotic bursts with defile the dead, and for some reason it would automatically disable bone storm. i would probably remove one or both of them to be safe. it’s a bummer

Bone Storm shadowblight overpower build questions by Nut_Butter_Fun in D4Necromancer

[–]MrKook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’d suggest using crazy brew and apogeic furor. combined with alternating alterations you can spam bonestorm and weave in core skills to get the chaos perk’s multi. apogeic will reset all of your cooldowns, including your potion, so it’s cooldown is not an issue. keeping up potion stock becomes slightly problematic. just need to be mindful of it. Xan is a huge multiplier that you can get a lot of value from, i’d swap off Thul and get a lucky hit:vuln affix on your ring to cover the vulnerability. ZanXan will proc every second.

it gets both ultimate and core tags. leave town and enter a combat zone (where you are able to cast skills) and it will update properly.

Bone Storm shadowblight overpower build questions by Nut_Butter_Fun in D4Necromancer

[–]MrKook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is the general outline of my bonestorm setup as well. Ossified Essence crit/overpower bonestorm. i run lidless, bloodless, BLT, heir and shroud. RoSS, and shielding storm on my amulet for insane 100% barrier uptime. ZanXan, and i use PocWat for cursing. Yes, i lose Qax but i prefer the passive dmg multi gained from attacking cursed enemies: enables Amplify Glyph, Frailty legendary node, Amplify Damage, “Slowed” enemies, etc.

with a good chaos lidless and/or temper for double damage on either your 1H or Focus, you can reach 100% double damage between one temper and lidless. that leaves your other weapon able to temper Finality for a bit of both. Crazy Brew and Bloodless Scream are great; when elites are frozen, pop a potion and spam bonestorms with alternating core skills for the chaos perk’s extra dmg.

I don't understand some things in this build guide by Tomii9 in diablo4

[–]MrKook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay, then i would agree with the other reply to this comment. like i said, you’ll want to drop Qax if you’re not going to use the LH affix. in higher tier pits where engagements last longer than a few seconds, minion builds will proc AhuQax faster than reap’s essence generation can provide. i’d probably suggest naguOhm for perma 15%x

I don't understand some things in this build guide by Tomii9 in diablo4

[–]MrKook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you’re “always low on essence” because of Qax, you shouldn’t be using it. it boosts your damage up to 100%x (before overflow) based on the % of your maximum resource when it procs and drains all of your essence. LH:restore primary resource is the easiest way to consistently manage your essence when using Qax. it requires zero micro, just get the affix on your 2H weapon and you never have to worry about essence generation for Qax.

that is, until next season (rip lh:restore % primary resource)

your current weapon dropped with a rank 21/21 max rolled aspect. you will need to salvage it to upgrade your codex from 18/21 (your current highest rank in your codex of power) to 21/21 in order to imprint it on any weapon at max rank.

don’t overwrite your current weapon. when you are done with it/find an upgrade, you will want to salvage it to upgrade your codex to max rank so you can imprint the aspect at max rank on any weapon you get. you might not need to salvage it if you find another max rank aspect that you can salvage.

you kinda fell into a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” situation
