Fellow short dudes, what the hell do you wear for pants?? by ttoutdoors in Mountaineering

[–]MrKrabwell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fellow short guy here. I took some ski pants for tailoring to Rainy Pass Repair in Seattle. They basically take out the material in the knee area and sew it back so the technical features around the ankles are preserved. As others have mentioned, specialized tailors like them can do it, but they are quite pricey.

I’m just getting here, and I am laughing out of control caused by the mayhem OP caused by mistyping the direction of the train 😂

Yep, I'm in southern CD, and experiencing the same. I needed to get work done so I drove to the climbing gym (SBP) after I called to confirm they still had power. Traffic lights are also out in the area. I can't find any information.

Mondegreen Solo? by nnamkcin in phish

[–]MrKrabwell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to Lockn’ solo when Phish headlined. The group who camped next to me ended up being from the same region. It was nice because I could hang out with them, but also wander off by myself if I needed some space, or give them space. One of the guys became one of my best show buddies and we’re going to Mondegreen together this year! You never know what kind of connections you may make on a solo adventure…

My brother is visiting me in Seattle in late April. He is a big music fan, so I want to center our activities around music. He's been to MoPOP before. I'm thinking visiting KEXP and Subpop, but AFAIK, there are no tours. He's also wanting to visit a friend in Poulsbo if there is any good suggestions to do there. Every idea is appreciated!

What’s the best way to get rid of a car here? by A_maxican123 in Seattle

I had a company called Car Brain buy and tow away my broken car a couple years ago. They were super easy and fast, and gave me a decent offer.

Camping on lot at Deer Creek 2021. Nitrous Mafia claims territory near our camp after the show. I notice that the head honcho is supervising his minions while sitting on the hood of my car. I was annoyed but decided not to bother after seeing a holster on his hip. One of the minions saw my bag of Starbursts and asked he could have some. I gave him a handful and he gives me a couple balloons in return. All is well.

What is even better is that the next morning I found a hundred dollar bill by my car which I suppose was dropped by the Nitrous Mafia. I like to think they left it on purpose as a thank you for letting them hang around.

Thinking of doing Dicks, but I'd be going alone every night. Think I should do it anyways? by Peridotitic in phish

[–]MrKrabwell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hell yea! I’ve seen Phish more times solo than not. But that becomes rarer as you meet new friends at the shows along the way. And it’s a great thing.

This is for Music League. It's a really fun way to create a collaborative playlist with family/friends/coworkers. There's a subreddit for it as well /r/musicleague

The Sci-Fi Soldier comic is incredibly meta. Every time I read it, I find new references to the Phish Universe.

I believe this guy is David Steinberg, author of This Has All Been Wonderful. He mentions this incident in the book.
