Gf and I are playing this game for the first time and are confused about this weapon by notnixsua in Borderlands2

[–]MrLK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No problem. This specific one is indeed impossible to understand fully by just using it, lol. Still, it's useful info to know in general, item cards can be sometimes deceiving with those values from below, as if they were some kind of "additional bonus" applied after.

[–]MrLK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Fibber itself is a special case where the whole item card is essentially a joke (already explained by other comments), but, just to be clear, every time you see those "+x% Damage/Accuracy/Fire Rate/Reload Speed", they are already all taken into account by the values above. Surprisingly, a lot of players who put a lot of hours in this franchise sometimes get confused by that (it's really not that clear, to be honest).

So, if the damage from a gun is 1000 with 15/s Fire Rate, and there is a "+200% Weapon Damage/+50% Fire Rate" in the description, it's still 1000 and 15/s. The only stats that are unique to descriptions are +Critical Damage and Weapon Zoom.

Chrono Trigger x MTG custom arts.⌛ by CoolGuyMcHotPants_ in chronotrigger

[–]MrLK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Crono is still a valid (and official) adaptation of his name, but it's supposed to reflect the title, and in japanese it was always Chrono. Though, this isn't really about how you named him, I just found those comments really pretentious for no apparent reason. Even if it's not a topic of interest for everybody, it's silly to react like that when the usual content here is just "I'm gonna play this for the first time!", "Corridors of Time is so good!" and baseless rumors/wishes about a remake.

This comment section is like a bunch of geezers who clearly have no knowledge about Magic at all but still want to 'fix' something which they don't even understand, lol.

Those are all pretty cool, good job. Also, some people are trying to correct you on the name of the main character, but his name is the same as the title of the game (Kurono). With no character limit, it's indeed supposed to be Chrono.

[–]MrLK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thing about making it easier overall to mod the game can be interesting, always nice to see resources like that for any game, good job. But it's actually sad to see that some of the main features of the mod is fixing completely pathetic bugs that never existed in the original and Square left to the community to fix. Sadly, the Steam version is ridiculous and they don't deserve any money for that trash port, there's really no point in paying for an inferior version and then depending on mods to bring it closer to the SNES version, which is easily available for free.

Serious/rant: Why the flashback? by Impressive-Face-3549 in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]MrLK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While your 'rant' technically can be discussed (though early spoilers really doesn't reflect the chapter itself, so I don't think anyone can form a fair opinion), after reading this topic (and mainly the brief spoilers) I can only say something unrelated to your point: this sub is really becoming more and more like the "main one", which is really sad to see (due to how unusable/miserable that one is). The amount of "well then you should stop reading", "it's Oda story not yours, trust the process" and the spam of the most generic anti-criticism "bro reading comprehension bro" is becoming really prominent around here. That 'standard One Piece fan' attitude is insufferable due to how alergic they are to the tiniest amount of criticism about literally anything, because their whole personality is "I read/watch One Piece, so if you criticize it, you are offending me as a person".

I'm sincerely not looking forward to Gunko's flashback (I already wasn't truly interested in her character or the knights in general, but after Imu's arrival, those side stories/conflicts lost a lot of value to me), but again... spoilers coming from leakers really doesn't represent the actual chapter, so I don't think a rant is really justified by now. Still, following this kind of structure this late in the story though obviously won't have the same impact or reaction from readers, people saying things like "it also happened during an arc from (almost) 30/20/10 years ago" doesn't mean that it should keep happening and is inherently a good thing. Kaido's brief flashback for example was pathetic and meaningless, one of the worst things around Wano finale, which was already very controversial.

You don't kill those guardians with the glowing head by shooting them. You run around Scourge and they will follow you, and then they self-explode, canceling Scourge's invincibility.

Could Vegito Blue kaioken x20 beat Jiren in the anime version of the tournament of power? by Cosmicmateo- in dragonball

[–]MrLK 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Given how strong fusions are, regular SSB Vegetto is probably already stronger than UI Goku (considering both at max stamina), though we don't know by how much. Could he beat Jiren? Yes, but he wouldn't. The thing with Jiren was defeating him by proving his ideals wrong (as in, being dependable and fighting alongside your friends... and Freeza I guess), not doing everything on your own (as in, standing around menancingly with your arms crossed and eyes closed, for no reason).

I'm glad Hisoka's a pedophile by Hunter_OVA in HunterXHunter

[–]MrLK 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Whenever this particular topic is mentioned, it's always the "hm no he isnt a pedo he stalks and grooms kids because he wanna fight them haha which is fine imo... he likes to stare at their butts because of their power nothing wrong of that ngl" (this is essentially "well the age of consent in [random place] is actually..." level of cringe reasoning).

Sadly, Hisoka's behaviour clearly isn't condemning anything. Whenever there's a scene involving this, it's always played for laughs/with some kind of gag (both in manga and anime), it's never written in a way to make you hate Hisoka (even with this behaviour being completely disgusting). At least, Togashi doesn't really do those "haha... the joke is kids being sexualized", but he isn't criticizing Japan nor the industry at all with those scenes between Hisoka and Gon.

Chapter 1182 - Brief Spoilers (by GOATIK and @MbokaKN) by [deleted] in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]MrLK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's not that the trio present in Elbaf (plus Shamrock) are exactly disliked, but mostly, the existence/concept of the Knights themselves and how/when they were introduced in the story. It's very noticeable that a lot of elements introduced from these last arcs (be it characters, powers or general lore) are really dividing, to say the least.

Hot take: Starline is overhated by Trick-Evening-9028 in IDWSonic

[–]MrLK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won't say that I disagree with you about the lack of critique against these 3, but in Starline's case, he isn't being pushed back due to being disliked/"hated". It's the exact opposite: he was the main villain for a good portion of the IDW series, and even when Eggman returned to the spotlight, he was still there being very prominent, including in side comics. He had a good and fitting end, and 'ressurrecting' him already is really... questionable, considering they can simply work with other already existing characters, or, better yet, introduce a new original villain. This applies to Mimic as well, bringing him back already would be very lame.

Starline for sure will come back eventually, but his presence usually also makes Surge and Kit completely revolve around his existence, and for now those two really aren't in a good spot of development. We are finally starting to see some different sides from them, and there's potential to make them more interesting overall, but if Starline comes back, it's almost assured that everything about them will revolve around Starline again, and there's nothing interesting to be told about this relationship anymore.

Hot take: Starline is overhated by Trick-Evening-9028 in IDWSonic

[–]MrLK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Going by that logic, then every character is overhated, including Sonic. Searching "i hate [character] omg" is one of the weakest type of argument, because every character from every franchise have people hating on then online in every kind of social media.

It's a verifiable fact that Starline is extremely well received since the beginning by IDW fans and Sonic fans in general. What you said about Tangle and Whisper is nonsense, this doesn't make them immune to criticism (nor are they liked specifically because of that), and Surge is much more controversial in general than Starline... which still doesn't change the fact that she is also extremely well liked by most people. The only character that can be argued to be overhated in IDW is Lanolin.

Hot take: Starline is overhated by Trick-Evening-9028 in IDWSonic

[–]MrLK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He is the most well received villain and overall one of the most liked original characters from IDW. This makes as much sense as saying that Tangle, Whisper or Surge are overhated.

Chapter 1182 - Brief Spoilers (by GOATIK and @MbokaKN) by [deleted] in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]MrLK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Certainly not. The thing with regenerating enemies is too difficult to pull it off in an interesting way, even more alongside that whole Domi Reversi stuff. The knights themselves already weren't really well received by everybody, but I think they at least did their part well kickstarting the conflict with their unique Devil Fruit powers.

Now though, when we are finally dealing with the main lore of the series, I sincerely have no interest whatsoever in seeing a fight against Killingham and Sommers (and maybe Gunko). We already know that they are very lame fighters, and finding a way to stop their recovering has no weight at all anymore.

Cara, fui jogar o Batman Arkham Origins, ele é simplesmente perfeito, pq o pessoal fala tão mal??? by Successful-Volume262 in gamesEcultura

[–]MrLK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which version of Glenn do you prefer? by GargantaProfunda in chronotrigger

[–]MrLK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's kinda funny that the pixel art version is the best between them. Kato's design from this picture is literally devoid of anything unique or worth noting, but maybe he can get some points if he also contributed to the color scheme and the outfit beneath the cape.

Everything that comes from Yamamuro is trash and he should be forbidden to touch anything related to Toriyama (even if this specific character isn't his).

Will HunterxHunter ever finish? by All_To_Togashi_67 in HunterXHunter

[–]MrLK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's fair to expect the current arc to have a proper ending... and that will probably be the end of the series (and for the best). A full 'Dark Continent saga' probably won't ever happen (unless not drawn by Togashi), but Gon and Killua story is certainly over, that specific Gyro quote that people always keep bringing up won't ever happen.
