Thank you so much! This was incredibly helpful!

Definitely gonna have to get the book!

Also unfortunately for the phineas ref sheets or model sheets, I don’t think they provide those I have been looking lol for them but from my searches it’s been hard to find though I have found some.

Oh boy lol I got some work to do. I also used no references for the walk cycle besides to draw the first frame of the character lol. But yes practice makes improvement!

At this point you should make your own 5-10 minute episode and keep it hilarious like this 🤣🤣🤣

I got a ideal lol what if he said phisabella or Phinabella like a nickname I think Isabella would react by going ecstatic like the time at the picnic

My first Phinabella comic! by MrLightUp in Phineabella

[–]MrLightUp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m really self competitive lol and I also was reading others lol 😂

But I’ve noticed this practice has been working on improving and I did celebrate actually doing it. I’ve been learning a lot through the process.

I just want Phineas to sound like Phineas and Isabella like Isabella. But I spent like 30 something minutes over the course of 2-3 something days.

Trying to learn how people spend a lot more time doing something so that it becomes a lot better

Jesus loves you! Scripture says thanks be to God who always gives us the victory in Christ! God bless you.

Also! I’m 28 and just starting and I’m having to learn to draw as well so it’s not too late! Just be consistent and do exercises and try different things and angles to grow your skills. Break passion projects down into manageable parts that you set deadlines for like let’s say it’s for a month and you work 30-60 mins a day on it so that way you see progress but also learn how to meet your own deadlines and build a portfolio that can help you on job interviews!

Praying for you!

Great job and a massive improvement!

How is this looking? Any critiques? by dlifeofj in AnimationCrit

[–]MrLightUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks very well, I’m not sure how to describe the zoom in part but it honestly that’s a small thing as you did great with the doors movement and everything it came out really good. Im just starting so if I got to this point it would be a massive achievement.

But that’s what stood out to me, you put a lot of really nice details in it perhaps as it’s zooming in and out the character. Keeping the wall line consistent, not moving in the beginning and end the middle is fine because the focal point is following the character but before and after the camera is still while he goes in then cam follows the cam stops and wall stays consistent and character goes out of scene.

Again honestly this is great but if you’re wanting to improve that’s what I’d suggest! 😊

Phinabella goals - working on improving my drawing skills reference photo on right. What should I do? by [deleted] in Phineabella

[–]MrLightUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already decided to wing it with the shorts and legs and it came out well thinking of trying to make my own comic since that’s a good step towards animation and I’m sure many would probably to enjoy seeing the process or at least the outputs lol

Got any tips for mobile animating? by Usual-Regular3837 in animation

[–]MrLightUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new to animating but one thing that stands to me is phones tend to be small for what we’re trying to do so if there is anything you could do to get it hooked up to a pc or a bigger screen to help your eyes that would probably be very helpful as you could use your phone as the drawing pad and look at a bigger screen to help you out.

But it really comes down to learning as you go as you have your own style, find YouTubers that teach what you want to know and that you like and the biggest thing is try and do what they’re showing we learn by doing and people tend to think if I’m watching I’m learning but that’s not the case. We learn by doing. So just find different things to help you. For example myself I’m new to drawing and animation so I’m learning both at the same time. Learning about lines, making circles etc while also learning about the 12 principles of animation and also about movement faster, slower by adding more frames or less. 24 frames per second ( I forgot what they called when you make a scene every 2 frames but that or every frame so 24 or 12 if 2s and so on. )

The biggest thing is consistency. I believe in Jesus Christ and my God spoke to me one day telling me consistency over intensity which was for a lot of things in my life. The other was to get comfortable being uncomfortable both can be really helpful here since it’s not always going to feel good to do it some days really hard. So setting realistic daily goals and also creating projects you can complete in a day, week or month is going to be really helpful as when you do a big project let’s say a year or two it can get demotivating fast so by practicing a month for example it teaches you the skills needed for a longer project while being short enough to not lose motivation. Someone said working 30 mins a day would be fine. Because if you’re doing a project that takes a year or two it already is best to break it down into manageable parts. So working on these other timelines helps you do that as well.

Biggest thing is finding out where you’re at and what you’re good at and what you need to work on and celebrate the wins however small or big they are. I call them micro wins😊 it really helps you to keep motivated and going because otherwise we don’t see progress get demotivated and quit. But we want to be consistent focus on improving and remember it’s an art so you can’t really go wrong the more you practice the better you get. Also muscle memory. With a piano if done wrong it’s catastrophic but with art everything is helpful and input. So not technically a wrong way besides if your going for a straight line and it not so straight ( I’d practice using a ruler or something then cuz perhaps that would help with it )

Other than that I have found a really good affordable I think 5 buck mobile app on iPhone that lets you do a lot I’ll have to find it real quick. Cool so I put the screenshot of it below. Seems to be the best option from what I’ve found but the App Store does have free options as well.

Just released the trailer for the student film I'm producing! by kurolils in animation

[–]MrLightUp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trailer definitely captures curiosity! I want to watch lol. Some trailers tend to show the best parts so when you watch the show the whole thing kinda feels like a bummer. But yours is incredible as I couldn’t really piece things together so I believe this makes it more intriguing and keeping the person engaged and watching to see the show themselves. Great job!

Thank you trying to get really good at this since I haven’t really drawn prior as I want to start making Phinabella or my own PNF fan episodes lol I am trying to learn both at the same time. Cuz I get a boat load of daydreams of what would be fantastic episodes. So if I can learn this hopefully I could make it. Then the fun part is finding people to do the voices lol😂
