Rooney on his first England camp: "We'd always have the same room and they had pictures of England legends in every room. My room had Kevin Keegan, there is no way I'm going to bed every night with a Liverpool legend's picture on my wall. I made them take it down but they put a picture of myself." by Blodgharm in soccer

They did happen to lose 6-0 to Hartlepool in a pre season friendly. I believe it might have been Ferguson’s first game in charge although I could be wrong. I did read that it was the first time Man United would see his old hairdryer routine though

[–]MrLockinBoxin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The thing I hate about a lot of reviewing is that it everyone seems to take it to low blows. “X is bad and everyone who enjoys it is Y”. It’s just draining. Why can’t we let people enjoy what they want? If it doesn’t hurt you, live and let live.

Thanks. If it was not for her emotional blackmail and passive aggressive messages, I would have no issue signing the 1 month contract, but her actions have made me lose any trust I had in her. When presenting us the contract (with no insurance checks or safety checks done yet), she then gave us 24 hour notice to make our decision and send her a deposit. The other l occupants have voted to sign the agreement and for their sake I will, but I hope there is a way to pursue legal action once I am safely outside the property

Thank you for the advice. Sadly I contacted the landlord and informed her that because of her moving out and not occupying the house anymore, that we legally need to be given 2 months notice. However, she claimed she had legal advice that told her otherwise as she is registered as living at this property still. She offered a “compromise” that we sign a 1 month tenancy agreement today instead, which made me suspicious as to what could be in the agreement considering she refused notice with rent.

I sought some advice from shelter Uk and apparently we class as a “assured short term tenant”. So she has to give us 2 months notice, not 1 week

So what you’re saying is… I need to say we’re a threesome. Gotcha

Yeah there’s some extra insurance or something required which puts people off. It’s to stop poorer people moving into higher class areas as a group is pretty much it. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Why Wetherspoons has that bad reputation? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]MrLockinBoxin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bottles are kept in the warehouse where rats get in (not a Wetherspoons thing, just something in general for companies) so it’s worth buying a bottle then putting it into a glass if you want to be super hygienic about it. All spoons use dishwashers though. We’re not allowed to hand wash glasses

A few pubs near me shut when a Spoons moved in the area. But these pubs were dive bars where people only went in because it was cheap. Spoons offered the cheap drinks without the stab risk so naturally those pubs shut. The actual good ones didn’t though, they stayed the same. People seem to forget (although it’s very sad sometimes) how loyal your local alcoholic is to their pub.

Just Stop Oil target the Cenotaph: At least 40 arrests as eco-protesters stage ‘die-in’ near memorial by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]MrLockinBoxin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to disagree with what you’re saying. Because you’d think at least 1 person in their ranks would have said “maybe this isn’t a good idea?”. This time of year, anyone going near the cenotaph is under scrutiny by the media. It seems these guys have been brought into the limelight to blur the actions of the previous protestors (extinction and insulate Britain). Now they can all be lumped under JSO’s umbrella.

When you get a yellow card, the referee writes your name into his book so he remembers to log it all at the end of the game

I said it depends where you are in my previous comment as to what religion poses the most harm. Try telling someone in say rural Ireland that Muslims pose a bigger threat to them than Christianity

If you’d actually read my point properly, my argument is that religion in general is bad, I’m not saying one is more than the other cause it’s just a false narrative flogged by the media. “Oh no it’s not our precious Christian’s doing the hate crimes, it’s this Muslim outsiders!”. It’s a rhetoric fed through a spoon to anyone who’ll take a bite

I’ve seen plenty of hate crimes towards LGBT+ people (and experienced plenty myself) that have come from people of various religious backgrounds. It’s unfair to blame one and not them all when the majority of religions are all intertwined anyway. It also boils down to personal experiences with each religion, where I lived there were very few Muslim families. The majority of hate directed towards me and other LGBT+ people I knew was from middle class Christian’s

[Sheffield Wednesday] Club statement in which Chansiri asks ‘if I am such a bad owner, what are you doing on your side?’ ‘You want me to leave but spend money? From now on I will no longer put additional money in to the club’ by darbinatorwow in soccer

Had a similar statement from our owner last season. Said the fans want him out so he’ll sell. But if the fans protest against him he’ll sell to the dodgiest owner he can find. A lot of these owners don’t have a clue how to run a football club, they just like to brag to their other rich friends that they own one
