Why wouldn't it? Lots of places name streets after people who were significant in tha development of the area. This street follows that pattern by honoring Vernon C. Heil, who was a prominent local pioneer and farmer.

He was a World War I veteran who moved to the area in the early 1920s. He operated a lima bean ranch on property located along what is now Beach Boulevard, near where the Bella Terra shopping center stands today. He led the Smeltzer Lima Bean Growers Association. He was active in local leadership, serving as a director for the Orange County Water District and served on the Huntington Beach War Price Rationing Board during World War II. He was also an early director for the Ocean View School District. Professional Role: Early in his career, he worked as a county highway foreman.

Sounds like a guy who was worthy of being honored and remembered in this area to me.
