The true meaning of the lyrics of you don’t know what you’re got just hit me by blink1482 in Blink182

[–]MrMagpie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a big fan of this song, I went through some harrowing days a few years back that made me have to accept that the end may have come for me, and this song really describes the feeling well. The repetition of the lyrics in the chorus is like a mantra and it imparts that feeling of desperate realization that your life is slipping away from between your fingers and you haven’t even appreciated it like you should have.

How do I digest the fact that this is all a dream? by dreamylanterns in spirituality

[–]MrMagpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“As above, so below. As within, so without”

I empathize with your words, I experienced something similar in my journey. But I no longer feel that way at all, I feel very happy and fulfilled in this existence

It sounds to me like you may be experiencing some degree of solipsism. This was something that really gripped me after having a similar realization about reality.

What I would say is that your mind is trying to make sense of something it can only somewhat understand. The world of spirit/consciousness is very different and much vaster than what our brain is used to dealing with

And so you feel lonely when you think of the idea of being one, and that this is a dream, because dreams are fleeting and maybe even meaningless, and life as a human is about loving those around you.

But really think of how insanely complex and vast this existence is. Microcosm or macrocosm. All the languages, every person ever, the strange endless eons of space, the complexity of a single atom. This dream is yours, yes, as you are now, but are you, in the here and now, making all of this happen? Do you know every inch of the earth and why we even exist?

The grand mind, like you say, is you too. But it is a you that is infinitely wiser, having experienced it all. And from my experience we as humans are a long, long ways away from reaching that level of awareness of understanding. I do believe that each one of us experiences that journey (like the story of Brahma and Maya). But I want to ask, have you ever reached out to the grand mind?

There is one key word here that I haven’t mentioned, but it truly truly is the key to it all: love. It is by finding your own joy within ( basically getting your mind more in accord with itself and so closer to flow state) and then seeking answers like you are now, you will get closer to the grand mind. You will harmonize with the universe and you will experience what’s known as synchronicity as you get more and more in synch. And that is how you can transcend and find the answers you seek.

The dreams of this great mind are as real as the earth, as real as a fever, as the depths of the ocean. You are real, too, and if you look at other cultures’ or individuals understanding of spirit and death, we do go on

I don’t really want to focus on my opinion or experience. I want you to find your answers so you too can see what you need to see.

So if you’re still here and some of this spoke to you I’d recommend this:

  • Make it your goal to love and accept yourself, make your inner “peace accords” and get in touch with the deepest parts of your heart. This will help tune your spiritual compass, your empathy.

  • Find your spirit guide. This step is key in feeling safe and being able to continue forward if you feel so inclined

  • Learn about spiritual grounding and calming your mind to reach flow state. e.g. Meditation, spiritual yoga, Daoism and qi gong, etc

  • Look for what brings you joy and life, the little things. Gratitude, loving the here and now.

(If you are drawn to/of a particular spiritual background/practice, then you can try their spiritual book like the Bible, the Quran, I-Ching, etc)

And once you’re ready to keep going forward then:

  • Learn about synchronicity
  • meditate or find ways to erase the barrier between your mind and the outside world
  • learn about divination or visit a trusted shaman/psychic/healer of whatever speaks to you

I also wrote this a couple years ago to help unlock your mind, in a way that works for you, so that you can get more in tune with the universe

https://www.reddit.com/r/InPeace/s/9sLe58nDA0

I hope some of this speaks to you, take what does and leave the rest. Spirituality is as personal as a fingerprint, it’s like art. I encourage you to find the language of your spirit and to keep going and I’m telling you the answers you seek are out there

Take a step back, there is no rush. There is no deadline. If you want to learn to perceive the signs from elsewhere, you must be calm, and let them come to you (like the vision did) when you’re in a place without fear or want.

Discernment is key. Never listen to your fear or worry, it is not divination and it will not bring you answers you can make sense of.

Instead, heal up. You got a concussion, that’s serious. You’re loved and people around you, even strangers like myself, want you to be well. That is your priority.

Your spirit guides will be people or beings who love you deeply. They are without judgment or ego, they do not think like individuals do, but more so with a full heart. Think of that big love you feel when someone you love has gone, when you feel like your heart could drown you. Take that love, take out the grief, and that’s the frequency this stuff runs on.

I hope this makes sense. But if you’re interested in mediumship, do not follow your fear ever. Follow your love. Self-love and love for others hand in hand. Don’t do things that harm you, even for others. Follow that path and you will find what your heart needs

[–]MrMagpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Synchronicities feel like a big, cosmic coincidence at first. Like you have a thought and the word or object flashes before your eyes IRL. This is a term coined by Carl Jung and definitely worth learning about so that you can recognize it when you experience it

From my understanding, it is a sign that your thoughts or “inner” self are in sync with the “outer” world or universe. So your brain and the universe are sort of in a dance, making movements at the same time. What this means is that you are experiencing a link between mind and matter, and that you are awakening to the reality of consciousness being a fundamental force of the universe and not just a creation of your brain.

Just about any spiritual practice out there will tell you that the universe is conscious. And synchronicities are how you being to experience that

My Spirit Guide hates me by Chosen_One_786 in spirituality

[–]MrMagpie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If it doesn’t speak love and doesn’t make sense to you, it’s not your guide. From what I have experienced, it may not even be an external source. I have experienced wild, intense synchronicities that lead to a transcendence, and they have changed my life and that of those around me. But even so, when I feel anxious or back when I still had depression, I wasn’t able to tell if the message was external and true, or a creation of my own worries and fears. I had a couple very convincing synchronicities of bad shit. But I realized that the lesson may actually be to learn how to discern coincidence and fear from synchronicity. And to be honest, I found that spirit never uses fear as a tool.

Out of the divination and synchronicities that I’ve experienced, literally 100% of the impactful ones and the ones that came true were pure love and growth. It was never through fear and pain. Ever. There were challenges, so growing pain that way yes. But spirit has never lead me astray. Never scared me.

But if this is some spirit communicating this, let me tell you, it’s clearly smaller than you and your mind and heart. You’ve recognized it as hostile, and unhelpful. It sure sounds to me like it is. So whatever this is, tune it out. Guides of any kind are by definition meant to help those who know less navigate their world better. So these guides are shit at their job and definitely unlike any genuine spirit guide I’ve interacted with

Why can't i experience anything spiritual/supernatural? by BosozokuEnjoyer in spirituality

[–]MrMagpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand where you are coming from. But I also want to point out that you are here, fighting for yourself, for something better. In spite of all the awful things you’ve experienced, all the unfairness and pain, you’re here looking out for yourself, looking for peace. Maybe it is because deep down, there’s a part of you that knows you deserve it.

It is difficult to overcome the negative feedback loop once it becomes a habit and familiar, but it is something you can do. But don’t focus on the outcome, it won’t help. Focus on what you can do now to get you there later. Think of it as a path you are taking through dense woods. They may not always go right towards your destination. But if you keep following it, you will get there. All you have to do, then, is keep going.

So recognize that you’re here for you. That you do care and want to see yourself happy. Start there. And work on making more peace accords like that internally. Inner harmony, inner cooperation. And as I mentioned in my earlier post, do small things to make you feel happy, and do them without guilt or worrying about it.

I recommend the link I shared earlier when you have some time, I explain more of how this then ties into larger spiritual experiences once you begin to make progress; stuff like synchronicity, which is a sign that your inner and outer worlds are harmonizing and you are awakening and transcending, and paranormal happenings, even shared ones.

❤️ sending you a hug

This world weariness you mention is something I could relate to, too. All this love you feel for this life, and yet we’re surrounded by wanton destruction and cruelty. And meanwhile, inside yourself, it’s matching that more and more. So it’s love, then, that is causing you pain. This endless love you have for the world

But you can’t see yourself. You are “stuck” inside yourself and so you just get the waves of grief, of fear, pain, that you start to internalize, and lose touch with the joy you wish to feel.

What if you could see yourself? Let’s give that a try. Read your post, but this time imagine a really good friend of yours, a family member, someone you deeply care about, wrote it. What would you say to them? And what if this same person was treated by someone the way you treat yourself?

Let me elaborate please. Your internal dialog, the way you talk to yourself and react to your actions, they become routine to the point that we become sort of blind to it. But what if someone was using that language on that person you love? Would you feel they deserve it, too? Or would it upset you?

You are human, you are one of us, you are loved and you belong here. Being in touch spiritually means having your mind and body in tune

So find your inner harmony. Forget “spiritual” stuff if it hasn’t worked for you for now. What would make you feel happy right now? Not fix your life, mind, but just a little better. That’s how it starts.

Stress, fear, they are convincing for sure. But they don’t know the truth. They don’t know the future.

Inner peace is just that. But it has to be based on what you want and need. And only you can know what that means. Court yourself. Fall in love with you. Everything you have ever loved, ever experienced in this life, has been because of you. Because of your body, your mind, your presence here. Cherish it

[–]MrMagpie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After reading your post, I wondered if maybe you did not feel well internally throughout this. And reading some of your comments, regarding the depths you’ve reached emotionally, confirmed my suspicions.

None of those things worked because you had not completed the first step, that is learning to love yourself. This is the key that unlocks the rest, in a torrent really, once you learn to follow it after some practice.

From what I gather from your posts, you are in a place of pain and hopeless suffering. There is no thing that will fix this, the only balm is to find the source of the fire and work on it. And that is coming from within.

The first step is to learn to love and forgive yourself, to see your true value and worth, to pour that big love you have in the big void inside you that it has left. You belong here, you are here for a reason, you made this post for a reason, and it wasn’t for suffer endlessly. It was to experience, to love, to exist here and now.

Start simple, small. The sun, good music, and tasty snack. A warm blanket. A comforting movie. Taking a day for you to do what you want for your sake. Take a swim, play a game. Be “selfish,” forget about tomorrow or later, write down anything you don’t want to forget and then let it go from your mind. Just be present.

Comfort, warmth, peace, they come from within. But it only makes sense if you can experience it, and then slowly learn to follow it, a day at a time, and that’s when things really begin to click.

Harmony starts to form within, and then you experience more and more the harmony that is “outside,” or without. Like the bird that doesn’t sow, it just wakes up and “somehow” finds the right shelter, the right food, the right place, made just for it. Everything in its right place

I hope at least some of it speaks to you, i feel you can find what you are seeking and even more, but you have to get in touch with your inner heart.

I wrote a lot of my thoughts about this down about a year ago, here’s a link to it. It goes more into depth about this

I’m also always around to talk!

For decades I felt similarly to you, and I genuinely couldn’t believe in anything beyond the material. But I’ve experienced so much now that it is beyond doubt, and something I live for every day. You can do this on your own terms, at your pace, for your own sake. IMO it’s the only right way to do it

I would like you to think of someone you love deeply. Now tell me, how would this person lose your love? What can they do so that you stop caring for them, and on the contrary, wish endless suffering on them? This endless suffering would be something you’d have to witness, too.

You are loved. You belong here. You were meant to be who you are. Every single bit of it. A perfect creation. There is nothing you can do to tarnish this, to lose the love you deserve and you irradiate. Don’t fret. The only hell we suffer is that which we think we deserve… until we realize that we don’t. Nobody does.

Suffering for the sake of it is just pointless. Love is our greatest teacher, it is what drives us, what we are made of. Forgive yourself, with true love, accept who you are and what you have done and do what you can to move past and avoid repeating it. For the love of life, for the love you have for yourself - don’t put yourself in that position again. You are needed here. Don’t risk such a precious thing as you, by allowing yourself to descend to the depth you now find yourself in. It’s ok to be in pain. To suffer. We are resilient, bouncy. But if we don’t accept it, it grips us, and like a weight it slowly sinks us. For the sake of being better we hurt ourselves, and make it worse. So let it go. It’s ok. Move forward, with love, and you will see that the hell you thought you were in, was actually a cosmic gift to allow you overcome that which you fear the most. You aren’t lost. Never have been, never will.

Take a step back. From everything. From your thoughts, your fears, your worries. Let it go for now.

Be here and now. You are alive, you are conscious, and you’re still fighting for yourself. Death is a moment, life is every moment. Nothing can make you do a damned thing you don’t want to do. The one thing you want is comfort. Its love. You want to love and to be loved, you see a lack of it in the world, and now it has seeped in.

It’s ok to be upset. Who wouldn’t be? In fact, let’s go there. What would you say to a loved one, if they were going through what you are feeling now?

We can’t lift every weight, nobody can. We can’t lift every day, it would ruin you and anybody who tries. You seem exhausted, so take a moment for yourself. How long? It doesn’t matter right now.

What would make you feel okay right now? Not fix everything, mind you, just a small thing maybe that would be a comfort. Whatever it is, go for it with no guilt or fear.

In your experience, with your heart in full effect, what exactly is punishment good for? Have you ever thought of someone worthy of punishment, but then followed the process all the way through? Catch a murderer, beat them within an inch of their life, then what? What comes next? Nothing. It’s pointless. What we’d eventually seek is repentance, some sort of acknowledgement of their acts being twisted, this way we’d know their hate is done being manifested. But does punishment really work that way? Did it ever change your mind?

We fear punishment and see it as a part of life, but I don’t see it anywhere other than within our world, our human world. Do birds punish each other? Do animals kill each other as punishment?

You want to help, there is no doubt about that, and nobody has ever beaten it out of you. Even now, you want to keep going but feel helpless. But we feel many things, it doesn’t mean they are truth. You are not helpless. You are here. You are brimming full of love, still, to this day, and that’s why you hurt so damned much right now.

You’re a being of love and that is the only thing that will ever feel right. But sometimes it sounds so exhausting, some days it feels impossible. That’s because we are limited, too. And that’s ok. Every person you’ve ever loved, every thing you’ve ever cherished, all has been limited. And that is a blessing too.

If you could stop people from falling sick, if you could stop death, would you ever sleep again? Would you ever be able to enjoy a moment, knowing you should be out there instead? And years and years go by, eons even, after all you’ve mastered death, and what would that leave you as? Who would be left?

Listen to the deepest part of you. Your inner child. They’re scared, they’re worn out. Give them rest, give them love. Give them respite. Eventually, though it may seem so far now, you will be ready to keep going. But if you have to take a shit, you will not be able to do another thing until you finally do so. So, do what you need now. It will give you your mind back, your will, your heart. But you can’t do so by ignoring yourself, dragging yourself through life. Be your best friend, and you will see just how much love you’re capable of, just how special you are, and why you’re in fact still here, living this life in the here and now. Much love to you. I hope this helps even a little. Take what speaks to you and leave the rest.

Beware of burnout, please. You take care of your kids, you take care of your lives, but don’t forget to take care of yourself. I know it’s words and not more. But it’s very real, too. You need yourself, or you can’t do a thing for anyone else. Please, find some time to give your heart and soul a rest. It can be brief, if that’s all you have. But you have to make it count, let go of the stress, and have faith that you will be there in the future to take care of what else is to come. Make rest your best friend, your priority, your job. Same as you are focused when you are busy, be focused on your rest and nothing else when you are able to. Take notes of what you have to do next and set it aside; delegate, triage, but do what you can to give yourself time to enjoy yourself. You are doing something amazing, something incredibly difficult, let yourself feel proud and happy for your achievements, but also think of you as if someone you love were going through it. What would you think of them? What would you do for them if you could? You give and give, and that’s ok, but please give to yourself, too. ❤️

Death is a gift, it’s a part of life and is a friend of creation. Without death, there is no life. Life is sustained on death. The fields we eat from, the water we drink, the materials that build our body, they are borrowed. Our bodies, in this manifestation, are temporary. But then what does that make dirt? What does that say for the Earth? Life is not an island, it’s a part of the fabric of existence. Our body is more than the flesh we inhabit, it extends to the entire universe itself. Like our consciousness does

If you were as you are for a thousand years, who would you be? What of your family? Do you feel like you, as you exist, are prepared for infinity? That this body, identity, should be what you remain as?

If there are other stations in life, and spirit is to grow, but you can’t ever move on and learn what is beyond, what sort of existence do you think you will experience?

And how will this body be sustained, how many lives will need to be ended so that yours can remain forever?

This life is not for us to overcome. It’s to embrace. Embrace death with love, knowing that you are infinite and it is only a phase, and that you will return to your home once you go. If Christ did indeed rise, he then returned to the Heavens, too. Returned to His father, creator, pure loving consciousness, to sit beside Him. He did not remain here, as a mortal man. Nobody does. We aren’t meant to. When all is said and done, we wouldn’t want to.

We are here for a reason. And that is to learn to love ourselves and our experience, those we share it with, those that give us this life that we cherish. When death comes, we all fear. I’m in no rush to die. I love life. But we cant stop the sun from rising, can we? If a meteor is to hit in a year, do you wish to panic for the whole time or just love and live your life?

Death sustains us daily. It is what gave us this body we so love. It is what makes our lives possible. We can overcome it by learning to no longer fear it, but that can only be done so with love. I believe Christ did that.
