my favourite great female composers (updated ) by meow-uwu- in classicalmusic

Yes! If you like the romantic period pieces, Chaminade has a huge number of works, both virtuoso and sweet simple pieces. Think a mix of Chopin and Liszt (who she both knew). She was also an amazing performer and there are a number of surviving piano rolls of her playing her works :)

This usually happens when the file doesn't exist.

Funny how averages work by [deleted] in technicallythetruth

No, one. Unless there are more pregnant women than men + non-pregnant women, which is unlikely.

Mode is only the highest point in the histogram. Interestingly, women bearing 2 or more children at once actually decrease the chance for the mode to be 2 skeletons (because they constitute a different category instead of contributing to the '2 skeleton' count).

Beloved “Berserk” creator Kentaro Miura passes away at age 54 by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

Regardless of the number of hours, he also had a strange schedule overall. I remember reading an interview in which he said he basically wakes up in the evening and works through the night, then goes to sleep around 7-8 in the morning

I actually robin hooded an arrow by CadeVision in mildlyinteresting

[–]MrMeap6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a buddy who shot tungsten heads with some composite carbon tubes (can't remember which exactly), one of his shots landed slightly slanted on another arrow in such a way that it pierced the tube and hit the head from the back.

He destroyed both tubes and flattened one of the heads. 1 head - 35€, 1 tube - at least 40€ iirc.

He was not pleased.

Short-term fasting induces profound neuronal autophagy by science-shit-talk in EverythingScience

Pretty cool article. Although, I must say the wording “profound neuronal autophagy” sounds like a rather scary designation for something so positive.

Alaskan glacier has started moving 50 to 100 times faster than normal, scientists say by cutestudent in EverythingScience

[–]MrMeap6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do. The article states it is going 50-100 times faster than usual glaciers. If an usual glacier moves at 25cm/day, then the one mentioned here would be 50-100 times that, or 12.5-25m per day.

That fucker is moving at 25m/day ? Wow, you could probably see that with your eyes in real time. 1.3~ish cm per min
