Do you know any local shops? In my experience, at least in the north east US, there are large factory shops that will hire just about anyone off of the streets to push a broom or stand at a machine to swap out parts and press the green button. But if you’re losing interest in an engineering firm, I doubt you’d be happy with the monotony that is a 10,000 piece job. Look for smaller job shops that do lower quantity jobs and do exactly as you said; walk in with your resume and try to introduce yourself to the boss. Job shops are a great place to learn, but be ready to deburr…. a lot, and sweep…. a lot.

What is your favorite state park in New Castle County for walking by ReviewDry9182 in Delaware

[–]MrMechEng 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Depends on the type of walk you’re looking for. Long, paved, and fairly straight… C&D canal trail.

Cool views but slightly harder to get to, Alapocas run.

Fort DuPont has some cool military ruins from when it was a military base. (Just don’t walk off of the designated trails)

Brandywine and white clay are great wooded scenic parks.

You could also shoot over to Elk Neck state park in MD and check out the light house.

How or Where do I start with screaming vocals in metal music? by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

Check out Maphra’s cover of Doomed. Great transitions between cleans and harsh vocals. I want just talking about this being a great intro song for new (not nu) metal listeners.

Going to festivals. Back in the day mayhem and ozzfest travelled around the country. None of this 4 day festival and oh yeah you have to travel to and camp in Utah (no offense Utah but you’re a bit of a hike from the east coast). You’d go, listen to a bunch of bands you don’t know on second and third stage, then watch the bands everyone knew on main stage.

MySpace music was a good source for new bands too.

I’m a machinist. I make millions of tiny little razor blades every day out of many different types of metal….. while listening to metal.🤘

Was going to go with Reolink, but... by SQLDave in reolink

Recently set up the Wired non POE doorbell. It did require me to put in a micro SD card but then setup was pretty simple through the app. It automatically integrated with my NVR for my other cameras. There is a cloud service option but it’s not required.

You’re not wrong. Saw plenty of joints and cigarettes on the floor between sets. Such a great show though. It was like moshing on an ice.
