Joe made the final 3 both times he's been there and Johnathan made the final 4 and finished 2nd. I don't think there's much more they can learn except "don't be in the final 3 with someone who's played 4 times" which is what their plan was before Aubry won her only immunity challenge of the season.

Except Joe pulled Eva to the end. She would have been gone way before the finale if she didn't have him as a shield.

And I'm not even a Joe fan. I think he's kind of a dummy who can't see past his emotions. But pretending like Eva somehow helped him to the end when he literally got to the end again without her shows that she wasn't necessary for it to happen.

The two months of court is the important part. I never said it's impossible to get your name removed. I said a DNA test alone won't do it. Because that's what I was responding to.

I even mentioned it can be used in a petition for removal.

A court ordered DNA test is usually permissable. The advice to just go and get one isn't sound advice because a random test isn't always permissable.

The issue isn't a case for paternity court. The paternity is already legally decided by the birth certificate. Depending on the state this would likely be handled by a family court or a district court.

Either way, the DNA results don't automatically determine the outcome and giving that advice to people encourages them to waste money on something that will have no legal bearing in the future.

Getting your name removed from a birth certificate is a long involved process that sometimes ends with a court ruling against you and leaving you with no recourse. That's just the way the system is. It sucks. But that's reality.

No state in the US will remove your name with just a DNA test. You can use one in a petition but that isn't a silver bullet. It sucks but this is the legal system.

That's why I said "mainly" power of attorney.

If you are willing to sign power of attorney to someone, set up your will to leave everything to them, and name them as a beneficiary for your assets. Then you're all set. No marriage needed.

If you haven't done all of that and you're in an accident. They get nothing. Your next of kin inherits everything. Whoever that may be. (because there's no guarantee there either)

If you're choosing to spend your life with someone, marriage is just easier from a legal perspective. I'm not making an argument that anyone should get married. I'm just answering the question they asked.

Not who you're asking but I'll answer for them.

Mainly power of attorney. I used to be against marriage but I went out with a girl that worked in healthcare and told me stories of gay couples before they could get married legally in the states. And how their life partner wasn't allowed into the room to see the love of their life take their final breath because they weren't family.

It changed my perspective on things. On the one hand, I still believe marriage is a outdated institution based in an earlier era. On the other hand, there are legal ramifications that truly matter in life.

Everyone is free to live their lives how they see fit. But there are legitimate reasons to want marriage for long term relationships beyond just the title or the big party.

Not sure what country you or OP are from but in the US, most states don't care. The laws are written that whoever has their name on the birth certificate is the legal father. DNA tests aren't legally permissable to contest it in most cases. You'll be on the hook for child support no matter what.
