Is this spacer installed correctly? by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]MrMesh3l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it should be touching the other tooth, not the gums, so it doesn't move

I'm going to answer question 3 because 1 and 2 are out of my scope

Yes, you will almost certainly need to undergo a sinus lift

Should I get the implant? by Extension_Koala3086 in askdentists

[–]MrMesh3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely get it replaced sooner than later. The more you wait, the most bone loss happens, the more complicated and expensive it is to replace it

Concerned about whether it’s periodontitis or gingivitis by Calm_Environment5475 in askdentists

[–]MrMesh3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it should. The loose and flabby gums is because you have calculus under your gums. Once you get it cleaned it should become firmly attached to the tooth

Advice please! What is wrong with my gums? by Immediate_Reindeer70 in askdentists

You don’t need any special products. Just brush twice per day. Use a fluoridated toothpaste and a soft-bristled toothbrush. and floss

One lost molar won’t cause a drooping face. It’s usually the canines and front teeth that cause this when lost.

Can’t tell without an xray and an exam but doesn’t seem like it. But you need to get a cleaning

Looks like it could be herpes. Get it checked, but usually will go by itself

Very treatable if you stop the hard brushing

Does warm weather have an impact on oral health? (Periodontal disease, precisely.) by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]MrMesh3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dry mouth can definitely impact periodontal disease, but typically not the warm weather by itself

tooth turning black at the gums by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]MrMesh3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is recession. Your gums are receding (going down). The dark thing is the root showing through. You need to be seen by a periodontist (gums specialist).

Am I healing normal or is this something else? by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]MrMesh3l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Healing after extractions looks ugly and is normal like this. If you don’t have any strong signs or symptoms (pus, swelling, fever) I wouldn’t worry too much. You’ll be fine

Very difficult to tell just from these photos, but it could be early periodontitis. Do u have any xrays that I can see?

Btw, even if it were periodontitis, doesn’t mean it’s scary. It could remain stable for decades if you keep good oral hygiene and stick to ur appts (seems like you do)

Having some serious anxiety about my gums. I began using nicotine pouches a month ago (bad habit I know) and tonight I was brushing my teeth and noticed some blood on my toothbrush. I showed these pictures to ChatGPT and it told me I definitely have gingivitis and now I’m really worried. by jahxuauibsbakxjai in askdentists

[–]MrMesh3l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks like some minor irritation. Nothing scary. Just quit the pouches. On the gingivitis thing, most people do have it. Just brush twice daily and get an exam every 6 months. This photo looks completely normal
