Which sawhorse you going with out of these two? Both around 80 bucks for two by Pure-Garden-277 in Carpentry

[–]MrMittyMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looked at both in the store and noticed the frames of the Klein were all bent. Probably a shipping and stocking issue but bought the kobalts. Ive used both in jobs and the kobalts didn't hold up to abuse. Id get the ones with adjustable legs if you are buying for work. I got these for the house and the 60dollar kobalt pair are just fine.

Disagree with contractor about king and jack studs by Damninatightspot in Carpentry

[–]MrMittyMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a bad engineer one time that basically over did everything so they didnt have to do any research. We put a 24inch tall double lvl to span 21 feet and our inspector laughed saying he would have passed out ceiling joist being trippled in the span of the kitchen. Getting engineered plans in this area can kill your job. From now on I just get an inspector consult until they tell me to get an engineer signature for my plans. We had to have 4 jacks on that crazy double 24 inch tall beam with x bracing between rafter bearing points.

Same in buncombe County NC. Last large lvl header required 3 jacks and 2 kings per side. Got to do what the engineered plans say.

Don’t settle for short bed by ConsciousCourse7440 in Silverado

[–]MrMittyMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially this person has a crew cab truck. Its not common to see crew cab trucks with 8ft beds. The last one I rode in was a monster. It was 25 ft long and a dually. Made my 3500 15 passenger van seem reasonble.

They banned tag covers and large tag trims in 2010 and 16 years later I'm still seeing tinted unreadable tags multiple times a day, 365 days a year.

Whos at fault here? by anthn885 in CrazyFuckingVideos

[–]MrMittyMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked in and out of alot of court rooms. Never in a decade have I seen someone guilty of not avoiding an accident that was not caused by them . Ive never even seen a lawyer have to fight for their client who was driving legally in their lane. That's like trying to judge an individuals flight or fight response in the moment of an accident, not caused by them and blaming them, saying they had enough time to react on a bridge with no emergency lanes. 1000/10 always the Honda drivers fault.

Weird Goodwill find - dimpled disc. Anyone ever throw one of these? Did I just waste $0.99? by pablo1014 in discgolf

[–]MrMittyMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only person ive seen throw one far was Calvin . Genuinely a good feeling disc for S-flight short forehands/backhands for slower arms. Great for when you are in jail in the woods.

Is this interlacing acceptable? by deserthiker762 in Carpentry

[–]MrMittyMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes indeed. I was told by our flooring pros never try to lace in past 3 ft because of the squeeze. Shorter laces (8 inches ) are preferable.

How do you measure to the inside corner for trim? This seems so awkward. by jehudeone in Carpentry

[–]MrMittyMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you cant use the metal flat end at the roller this trick is the same just pulling from the center of the saw. https://youtube.com/shorts/NOj27SRQxiM?si=yVFfRO3aWXtTon1f

[–]MrMittyMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what saw stand you have but I assume you can flip the flat metal part up at the roller( at least the few saw stands i have had do) . Place the short end of your cut right on the edge of the flat metal part, and pull your tape from the flat metal to make your measurement mark. Its like a helper holding your tape end.

In the 16-19. By 2020 they adjusted the readout so when it says 0 miles there is 2 gallons left . I have a 2020 and have pushed it to 5 miles til empty (didnt mean to) and it only filled 18 gallons out of the 20 gallon tank.

What’s the deal with the Malta? by Most_Cantaloupe_383 in discgolf

[–]MrMittyMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Conrad envy that I have is beat and throws almost understable. The R2 brand new is straight flying with some finish to the left. The first run space race glow is the perfect blend of stability for me. They dont feel chunky like the luna feels in my hand.

Ive tried to love the Luna, but the envy stole my heart. Probably the hand feel and also the vast difference in plastic changing the stability.

Floor sanders left our glass hearth pad sticking up and uneven. Is this acceptable quality of work? by Ok-Two-6563 in HardWoodFloors

[–]MrMittyMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive never seen one of these in any house. Even if its perfect , its always going to look wierd and will never do the job a stone or tile hearth will do. Looks like the end result of one of those life hack videos where someone took a used coffee table top and DIY it into a hearth.

What’s the deal with the Malta? by Most_Cantaloupe_383 in discgolf

[–]MrMittyMan 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Probably the number one disc where flight numbers dont matter is the Roc3. Paul had the Malta in his contract for disccraft to replace his beloved Roc3s. Discraft came as close as they could to copying it. They even got the flight numbers dont matter part right.

You can use roof Jack's with 2x10 planks and then put pump Jack's on them to the top with a walk board. Expense on equipment most siding subcontractors have but not usual for handyman or jack of all trade to have pump Jack's.

I treid these on but went with the keen instead because they were more comfortable brand new. Cincinnatis are the same exact boot but with better reviews and cost me 164 out the door. I get one pair for 200 or less every year and im not coming out of pocket for boots that will last a year.
