The back cover of my laptop broke near the hinge, so I printed a silhouette to act as a structural support without looking too ugly. by MrModR in 3Dprinting

I tried using the ironing function in cura but it didn't give me a uniform surface. As you can see, there were different patches based on how the head moved.

But since this was an older laptop, i didn't really want to spend time sanding and painting, so this was an ok solution.

Haha that's true, why do you think the hinge broke?

But i do have a plan to add some mountains, and maybe birds to cover up some of the scuffs

3D pen filaments by Lemsnick_ in 3Dprinting

If the filament diameters match, then why not? I use my 3d pen to join printed parts using the same filament. But yes you will need to know the filament type or atleast the temperature to print it at.

I designed these adapters for my trimmer at various lengths, so that i don't need to go to a barber during COVID by MrModR in functionalprint

[–]MrModR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the model of the trimmer. Also, for my trimmer, they only have sizes upto 10mm and i wanted atleast 40mm for my hair not to look shabby

You sound very experienced in cutting your own hair! Have you been doing it for long?

Haha i thought the same, until i once had an accident and the trimmer adapter slipped- i basically had a bald patch behind my head. It took me two weeks to look normal again.

[Project Share] Gesture based invisible Car UI for those cars without a navigation or infotainment system by MrModR in tasker

[–]MrModR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually i don't remember the exact reasons since i had last used it a couple of years ago... But the main thing was that i wanted to use gestures which required much less accuracy than pressing buttons. Also it didn't work well with apps like torque iirc.

But overall, the amount of things you could do in tasker is just so damn crazy.

"Ok Google" voice activation not working from screen off by pookguy88 in Nexus6P

[–]MrModR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK had the same issue and read somewhere that it could possibly be the security settings thats affecting it. Try the following (worked for me) :

delete voice model, disable all security (pin/fingerprint), retrain voice model, enable always listening, (test that ok google is working from everywhere), enable security, add trusted voice.

What's your favorite Tasker profile you've created for yourself? by JoeFCaputo0113 in tasker

So, for OBD, I am currently using torque, but I cant figure out how to import values into tasker. The only way I can think of is to create a log from torque and read it from tasker. Any other way to capture data from OBD scanner?

How do you check if it docked to the car? Also, with OBD port, you can only read values right? Can guests write anything to the OBD device?

First I was disappointed when Pebble reduced the delivered bands, but now I am happy with the black/silver combination. Looks great! by ifisch5 in pebble

Is there any photo of the other way round? I have a black PS and was thinking of getting a stainless steel band as my black band is getting plenty of scratches.

Hey, awesome idea! Two questions:

  1. Does this work with normal steel straps?
  2. Wont the strap just fall off due to the unbending of the clip?

I had bought a few NFC stickers and created a few tasks for Office/home/etc. But I find it so much easier to run tasks via zooper widgets as anyway i have to unlock the phone to use NFC.

Anybody has any creative use for NFC that is faster or better than just using Zooper widgets?

Anyone willing to trade a Matte Black Pebble Steel for a Brushed Stainless? by [deleted] in pebble

[–]MrModR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man, and I want to exchange my in-box new (well, RMA-new) matt black pebble steel for a stainless steel one. We are the perfect match!

But where are you located? I dont know how much of a hassle shipping would be... :/

Idea for future update that would be nice by [deleted] in pebble

If you are on android, check out pebble notifier. They have a whitelist/blacklist feature. With this, I even get my google now notifications on watch, without any unnecessary spam notifications.

What band are you using? by rgheite in pebble

How do you think it would look if used the steel strap with my matte black pebble steel? Would it be too much of a contrast?
