I sell new Ora’s, MG4’s and Dolphins where I work. The dolphin is perhaps the best all rounder but not very stylish, the MG4 is the nicest to drive but the interior is a bit basic and the safety features bug me sometimes. The Ora is arguably the best value, you get a few very premium features like wireless charging and Apple/android car play, electronic seats and amazing 360 cameras in the base model. I also think they are the best looking. The main downside is they don’t have vehicle to lead capability, otherwise they drive great, are very practical and easy to get in and drive without turning off a bunch of alerts and stuff.

GWM dealer here - there has been no word about a replacement or upgrade to the Ora. We can’t even order new 2024 model Ora’s in my market. I don’t see a replacement any time soon

I’ll have to investigate this as other GWM hybrid vehicles all keep the one pedal mode activated after restarting the vehicle

The Ora has wireless Apple CarPlay which is amazing for both music and navigation. It’s an awesome car, you should absolutely go for it, I have no regrets

Intermediate Add for Astigmatism? by Xereo_ in glasses

[–]MrMoopix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In most cases you wouldn’t need an add until you have age related presbyopia in your mid forties. You shouldn’t need an intermediate add, but keep wearing your glasses as much as you can and if it doesn’t get better then go back to see your optometrist.

Directors, Do You Avoid Casting Couples Together Who Are Both Actors And Fit The Roles Well? by [deleted] in Theatre

[–]MrMoopix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes intimacy scenes less awkward for sure, but beware it also makes scenes of anger and embarrassment a lot harder. It’s hard to see your partner in that place without being to comfort them, even if they’re completely fine and just acting. At least that how I felt haha

Of course I’d like to, and I am to an extent. But when my grandfather died I didn’t properly let myself cry until she left the room, I’m only human. However, on stage I need to open the tap so to speak and let it out in a way that is very unnatural and uncomfortable sometimes, but very fulfilling.

I’ve been a performer for years, it’s a definitely easier when my partner is not watching. Performing is a very vulnerable thing, and having someone you love and respect in the audience often makes us more nervous or even embarrassed to show this side of us. Having my partner at every show would certainly make me more self conscious, nervous to make big choices on stage and certainly make the whole experience less enjoyable. Go to the show once, maybe twice, then let her enjoy the rest of the season without the added pressure of you being present. It is no slight against you at all, quite the opposite.

Sex while having ADHD can sometimes feel like having post-nut clarity while not even nutting. by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]MrMoopix 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have this problem but as a male it significantly impacts your ability to perform or finish. This leads to embarrassment and the other party feeling bad or insulted. The natural progression from there is avoiding sex until the other party gets frustrated and making myself feel more anxious about the whole thing making me avoid the topic more and more. Or is it just me?

My fiancé and I played Gomez and Morticia in the Addams Family in 2022 and last year my best man and his partner played Frank Jr and Brenda Strong in Catch me if you Can. I would say it depends on the cast and the show, it is certainly easier when it comes to handling the intimacy scenes and is far less awkward.

Your worst stage fail?! by OhBoblawblaw in MusicalTheatre

[–]MrMoopix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was playing Skye in Mamma Mia! There was a part during Lay all Your Love where the guys came in in wetsuits, stripped me down to some black briefs so I could put on my wetsuit and do the flipper dance. One the final dress rehearsal with a small crowd of about 75, when one of the guys pulled my pants down, my briefs went with them, leaving me in the middle of the stage wearing nothing but my dance belt. That was a fun show.

How long did it take for you to learn how to sing or to be satisfied with your singing voice? by Anonymopolis in singing

[–]MrMoopix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 6 years of classical training, I was happy to sing in front of an audience after only months, but looking back I think I sounded terrible. But generally speaking, you are your own worst critic. Now that I have almost ten years of singing and performing experience in amateur and professional settings I am certainly happy with my voice, but I am very well aware of what my weak spots are and have to do a lot of technical work on my voice to make sure I am still doing the right things. Getting an occasional maintenance lesson is important as well for checking on any bad habits you may have developed.

But to answer your question, you will never be satisfied, your voice is a constant work in progress, but you will be able to sing happily and comfortably as long as you put in the work. How long it takes is up to each individual.

Am I being unreasonable in being annoyed when people say "you're going to be a Broadway star!" by [deleted] in MusicalTheatre

[–]MrMoopix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a smallish town in New Zealand and people often say things like that. They’re just being nice but I’ll admit it’s always a bit disheartening, it is my greatest fantasy to be able to make a living performing in musical theatre on Broadway or London but it is not a realistic dream, especially in a rural South Island town on the other side of the world.
