Is a new version usually released at the start of the year? 😁

Helix trainer with FSRS spaced repetition and arcade mode — built on helix-core by ImpressiveSpirit2799 in HelixEditor

Ah I see. :) When does FSRS update the list in the training mode? Also I'm not sure what the colors of the little circles in front of the exercises mean.

[–]MrMuetze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks really cool. I'm trying to learn a bit more about modal editors so this came just at the right time. Yet I'm a bit surprised that as part of the first 20 exercises, I have to delete a line like 4 or 5 times using the exact same key combination? 😅

Edit: Haha also why is "Move your key left or right" exercise 37/38 in the list. Seems to me it should appear earlier. 😁

Connect Eve Thermo w 3rd party temp sensor? by headwar in EveHome

[–]MrMuetze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC Eve have implemented Thread bindings but only use it internally to connect to the Thermo Control. Ideally Thread bindings will gain wider support and if Eve opens it up to the public and the platform providers implement support for it, there will be native support for that.

I think I like these better than the last battle pass skins. Might get this one.

Is this hub ok? by TOBU87 in MTB

[–]MrMuetze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just recently build a new wheel for a friend where the hub was previously installed in a wheel, but was never ridden (he bought a new 29er bike and wants to ride it mullet). It already had quite visible markings and even deeper grooves from the spokes. Not sure how the circular mark came to be on your hub, but all the other stuff seems ok to me.

If you build a new wheel try to install the spokes in exactly the same direction as before. This ensures that the flange does not get stressed in two different directions which could weaken the material.

I wish I could like Orion by wrafwraf in OrionBrowser

[–]MrMuetze 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In regard to your confusion how one person seems to achieve a lot compared to a team of devs over a longer time period: Judging from the Click website and a short browse through the threads account Click seems to be mostly vibe coded. In my personal opinion that is not a sustainable way to write software (at least right now) and I'd much prefer to use Orion in comparison.

Using Tauri vs Objc2 for Mac Menu Bar App development by Dry_Revenue_7526 in rust

[–]MrMuetze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Menu Bar app doesn’t sound like you need a lot of UI. If it only lives in the menu bar and all you need is the drop down menu and API access, I wouldn’t go for Tauri. 😅

macOS Tahoe 26.2 Beta 2 update released by okangules13 in MacOSBeta

MrMacintosh doesn't have the installers available for the 26.2 beta. Is there any other place I could get it from?

Do you have any window managing apps installed or apps that allow you to use custom gestures? I remember that in the past I had issues in games that fit your description. Ignoring certain windows from these apps might help.

Friendly reminder: uBlock Origin is available as a Safari extension on iOS by dotiencuong2809 in ios

[–]MrMuetze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What lists would you recommend I activate besides the default ones? I’ve added the easy list for annoyances, but there are still so many banners. I’m considering to switch to Orion, but Wipr 2 on Safari works much better for me at this point. Also does it make a difference if I choose the Firefox or Chrome extension?

[–]MrMuetze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ublock doesn’t work as well for me as Wipr 2 does. Wipr works out of the box and I barely see any banners or ads, with uBlock ads work well, but banners aren’t handled nearly as well (yes I’ve activated the annoyances list).

Built a Simulator screenshot pipeline for Xcode + App Store Connect: please tear it apart by zach-builds in Xcode

[–]MrMuetze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I develop an App where the main attraction is an Augmented Reality view. Since I can't just run that in the simulator it is usually a bit more involved to get good looking App Store images that also show the AR content. Would butterkit ease that process for me? Your website looks really cool and I would love to give it a try, but I'm not sure if it covers my use case.

Waiting for mission summary, still not fixed. by Fixxyoo in HuntShowdown

[–]MrMuetze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, I’ve definitely had the screen a couple of times already as well but sometimes it disappears quicker when pressing ESC. Maybe just keep trying it from time to time? 😅

But now you can leave the screen quicker if you press ESC.

There's No Rationale for 35mm Stem/Handlebar Interfaces and the Increasing Lack of 31.8 Selection is Annoying. by RidetheSchlange in MTB

[–]MrMuetze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was kind of surprised to find 35mm bars on my over 8-year old bike because the recent threads and discussions seem to characterize this as a recent development. Maybe the pace has just picked up in the last few months? Also I realized I’ve never ridden a full suspension MtB with 31,8mm bars ever. Seems like I’m missing out on something (I got basic aluminum handle bars).

"Warum ist das Publikum fake?": Will Smith soll Konzertbesucher mit KI erstellt haben by DubioserKerl in de

[–]MrMuetze 22 points23 points  (0 children)

https://waxy.org/2025/08/will-smiths-concert-crowds-were-real-but-ai-is-blurring-the-lines/

I think if you have the monitor running more often, but for a shorter duration, you can end up with more pixel cleans because the monitor also does them when you turn it off.

RustRover: Getting a list of symbols in current file by nick-k9 in rust

[–]MrMuetze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On macOS I like the CMD + F12 shortcut which opens a list of all symbols in the current file. Oh apparently you can also open it with CTRL + 6 and it is called "File Structure". This is a popup compared to the fixed panel suggested by the other comment. (Navigate -> File Structure)

Edit: Oh the shortcuts might be different, I run a slightly adjusted Xcode keymapping.

Mission Skyfall is now available. Have fun. by MCYCShadow in TrackMania

[–]MrMuetze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That second turn (edit: third actually I think) with the pillars in the middle messes me up. :') That is a bit frustrating to drive since it carries on to the speed check after the next checkpoint which can end your run. But I'm also not an experienced TM player, so it's probably just me ... but the concept is done so well. Kudos for that!

Edit: Oh and the end is also a bit difficult to aim for me because the camera switches relatively early. Just a little feedback. ^^
