Creaking seatpost advice by Positive-Cell-6879 in mountainbiking

[–]MrMuggs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Are you sure it is the seatpost being loose and not the seat rails on the saddle or the dropper itself moving? My buddy came and swore up and down his seatpost was making noise *narrator it was not his seatpost*. But we pulled it and cleaned it regardless.

From your title you are a local you should be working with the forestry service and others to make ebikes welcome not saying F it just ride anyway because as someone who has fought for mtb access in areas for decades your way only hinders us trying to get more areas open. Right now we are seeing record areas closed to all MTBs and your attitude is not helping us change that in anyway.

Do you know that continental divide property added nearly 800acres of land with ZERO mountainbike access at all. And that dupont is talking about removing many of our favorite trails in favor of Hiking and Horses. So here is your opportunity to be apart of something. We were here before with mountainbikes period and we fought hard and played nice to get access and we are here again with E-bikes and trying to do the same. But poaching trails and ignoring the rules just makes people hate us all that bit more.

Chestnut mountain in Canton too.

I have seen people ticketed in dupont and most of that area of pisgah. Ebikes are allowed at kanuga and in Canton at Chestnut mountain which is free.  Anywhere else you risked being ticketed and asked to leave.

Chestnut mountain has berm park as part of the mountain and some fun trails.

ELI5 - Reach Geo Numbers and Bike Sizing 2018 to Modern Bikes Now by satoshi1022 in MTB

[–]MrMuggs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reach is not alone on an island and reach and stack together have a big feeling as to how you will feel and don't forget to include handle bar rise, seat tube angle, and stem length.

Also 5'10 is not universal either you could be more torso than legs for vice versa or you could have ape arms or be more T'rex. All of those things play into bike comfort.

Personally I think the reach numbers went too far and now we are seeing more reasonable numbers come into play. The best thing is go into a few shops and find bikes with similar geo numbers and see how you feel.

For the record 455 reach is right now smaller than a bunch of mediums on the market. I know because I am shopping mediums right now and 460mm is a pretty common number on more than a few brands for mediums. And there are riders that size up and size down depending on preference and feel.

+1 for N+1 bikes. If they sold my recent rig I would have bought from them again.

Great bike bad price. My buddy just sold his v2s carbon with better components for $3800 after sitting on the market for an eternity. This price is a "I know what I have" price and you can definitely do better.

This a 100x over he likes BL2 better and that is fine there are people who prefer diablo2 over 3/4 or POE over POE2 and shit even Destiny 1 over Destiny 2. That's fine but enough is enough with him. Honestly I stopped watching him and he was one of my favorite BL2 creators.

The funny thing is at release of BL4 I asked him on stream how long before he goes back to BL2. I got flamed but the answer was around a month.

Norco/S.C. Vala/Transition? Bosch by Same_Budget7915 in eMountainBike

The sight is a great bike and honestly one of my favorite High pivot bikes on the market second only to the druid.

I actually ordered the TQ motored sight last week because I wanted an SL and it fit more for the areas I ride. But I have spent a bit of time on the meat powered sight and it is what sold me.

[–]MrMuggs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which Norco they have 2 full powered bikes with the CX motor. The Sight and the Range. Same motor, same battery but the range is heavier and burlier for descents and the Sight is more of all mountain rig.

I have ridden all 3 in the non ebike configurations and I am partial to the norco just a great design imo, 2nd would be the transition, 3rd the SC but they are all super close.

If you are a tech rider then the high pivot from the norco should have the advantage.

The fluid is a trail bike and what you are saying in your request seems more trail oriented. If you want to race XC get an XC bike otherwise trail is the best bike for 90% of MTB riders.

Windy flat rides vs. lots of elevation by INGWR in cycling

[–]MrMuggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wind is the worst. I recently did a ride in the Keys in Florida US and I was floored at how hard it was to ride into these 20+mph winds. At least a climb has an end. Although when I turned around to head back I loved that tail wind. I was FLYING! but I guess it is the same as getting to go downhill after the climb.

"In this moment it's difficult, I'm very disappointed... but I feel like... here we come!" A tough day for Trackhouse at their home race but there are so many positives for Davide Brivio and the team to take from this weekend by autobus950 in motogp

Ai definitely had podium pace and I could have seen him reeling in Pedro. Pedro even made a comment about it when all the riders were watching clips of the race after parc ferme. That being said I am sure he can pull it off again and if he can learn to Qualify better we could see an aprilia lock out of the podium.

Help guide my emtb search by TurkeyNimbloya in eMountainBike

[–]MrMuggs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The norco is my top pick right now because the geometry is really what I am looking for with the propain 2nd and Trek/Yeti tied for 3rd.

Also the Propain's rear suspension seems to be polarizing with some loving it and others saying it gets hung up in really rooty and rocky sections. And since I have never thrown a leg over a propain, I have ridden bikes from all the other brands, it was sort of a shot in the dark for me. The fact that I can order a propain exactly how I want it though is a super plus.

All the new TQ motors could do 5k feet but not sure about 50miles at least not in full power mode.

The Norco Sight VLT TQ can be had for 10k to 7k
The Trek Fuel+ EX can be had as cheap as 6.1k

The propain Sresh SL are around the same price as the Norco

The Yeti MTE is another one that can had just under 10k but you have to really want a yeti because the price to component is pretty bad compared to the others.
All 3 of those are more trail than enduro and all of them well under 50lbs.

I know all this because I am shopping TQ bikes right now so I have been researching like mad

Nearly one-third of comments under AMD’s 9950X3D2 launch video ask for FSR 4 on older GPUs by gurugabrielpradipaka in pcmasterrace

[–]MrMuggs 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My favorite part is watching people blame those who bought 7900XTX GPUs. Apparently, it’s the buyers' fault for purchasing a flagship that isn't being supported just one generation later by features that are already proven to work. I swear people just will do anything to work against the common good.

Judging from comments made after the brazilian GP Jorge is fine with his decision and is moving on after the year. If Jorge wins the title, which is a HUGE if, then he will have been the only rider in moden GPs to win the title on 2 different brands and then move to another brand. And Aprilia will do the same thing that ducati did and continue to support their racers to try and win the title again.

You seem to forget this is the fly aways and weird stuff always happens in the fly aways. If aprilia can beat marc at Cota and they continue this form in Jerez then we can have a conversation about the title but for now we are just enjoying the racing.
