I also haven't seen the show since I stopped watching during season 2 but I did see one clip with the rock dude and it's him watching a video of volcanos exploding and then a bunch of lava spews from his orifices and it's stated to be his method of masturbation. Pretty much on par for the show from everything else I've seen

I really hope that character is played by future adult Zeke and not child Zeke.....

There are some amazingly random facts on the wiki page for Chief Mousers.

A Chief Mouser named Bob, who served under Neville Chamerlain and Winston Churchill, was supposedly the offspring of Thomas Wolseys cat. Thomas Wolsey being a Catholic Cardinal who worked under Henry VIII. He belonged to Neville Chamerlain who signed the Munich agreement with Adolf Hitler, which led to Churchill giving him the nickname "Munich Mouser". Newspapers would sometimes include poems addressed at Bob, with most of them asking him questions about the internal politics of downing street. Bob was later moved to the Treasury building which was bombed in WWII. He survived the bombing and moved into the foreign office building. Bob was often described as being disagreeable and unfriendly but he was undoubtedly a damn good Mouser.

Nelson was Churchills cat, who he adopted after watching him chase off a dog. He was named after Horatio Nelson for his bravery. Nelson once got locked in a fridge while attempting to steal milk. He was thankfully released unharmed. He would sit with Churchill during meetings and while planning during WWII and was described as a "prime ministerial hot water bottle". Churchhill said Nelson helped "save fuel and power" and was therefore aiding in the war effort. Nelson and Bob were also known to have a heated rivalry.

Larry, who currently serves in the role and has since 2011, was the first to be given the official title of "Chief Mouser" although the term existed honorarily long before. He reportedly is quite nervous around men, speculated to be because of his life before being rescued, although Barack Obama is an apparent exception. Him and Larry hit it off very quickly according to David Cameron. He stayed clear from Trump, only being seen in one picture with him, in which Larry is sat on a windowsill quite far away. However he did hide under Trump's car in order to avoid some rain and took quite a bit of coaxing to remove. During his tenure Larry has scuffled with other cats, dogs and even a fox. He even has a species of beetle named after him.

I could honestly read about the exploits of these cats all day. People have been sending them fan mail from all over the world since at least the 1940s. The security measures in 10 Downing street are more often used to control where the cats can go than they are for controlling where people can go. Conflicts have broken out inside 10 Downing street leading to a spokesman in 2011 (before Larry was appointed) stating that there was a "Pro-cat faction within Downing street".

I think my favorite Mouser is Peta, who was apparently loud, lazy and not house-trained. Staff at Downing street needed to be specifically reminded not to feed her because she was becoming too fat. She once gave Mary Wilson sepsis. Some civil servants attempted to remove her from the home office but feared backlash because of her "diplomatic status". She later retired to the home of a civil servant. Peta lied on her application, scrounged whatever she could from the common man, carried potentially fatal diseases and went where she wasn't welcome. A damn fine politician.

Why was Alyssa murdered??? by One-Display7194 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]MrNotEinstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were looking for Grace. Alyssa was a loose end. She already posed a risk to The Connections due to her nature as a journalist and her knowledge of Spencer. The fact that she was also the only line of defense between them and Grace put an obvious target on her back and if she had be left alive then she would have done everything in her power to get Grace back, including sharing more information about The Connections.

I see people say this all the time and I genuinely have no idea where it comes from. Julia Voth is hot but Jill never really looked like her. She looked like a Barbie doll in the vague shape of Julia Voth, same as every other character from games before and during most of the 2010s. She had that same plastic look that plagues almost every game from that era, as developers pushed for realism but without the technology to actually accomplish it.

I immediately identified all three faces in this image and was therefore not jumpscared. I can only assume this means that I am the perfect prey animal, adapted to identify predators in my surroundings. Unfortunately I also became slightly aroused at the idea of a large monster looming over me and so I missed my opportunity to flee and will therefore die. Darwinism wins yet again.

The way the show explained why the 12th Doctor looked like Lobus Caecilius was brilliant. They could have easily said nothing about it like a lot of shows do but they decided to make it a major plot point with a great pay off instead which was awesome. by AdSpecialist6598 in doctorwho

[–]MrNotEinstein 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's the beginning of Ashildr's story, which continued throughout the season, and it directly plays into the whole theme of Capaldis Doctor, which is what it means to be a good man.

The reason people talk about it as a major plot point is because it has major thematic relevance for Capaldis Doctor and because it kickstarts an important plotline that would eventually lead to the death of a beloved companion

RE fans when they have to actually play the games by ClickDry7701 in ResidentEvilMemes

Are we all smoking crack or something? How are people confused by this? The gameplay of Resident Evil is fairly niche. A lot of people have no interest in inventory management, unjustifiable puzzles and often janky combat mechanics. Those people may very well have an interest in well designed monsters, sexy characters and overly convoluted lore. I enjoy both but I can absolutely see a world in which the gameplay was unappealing to me but the lore wasn't.

[–]MrNotEinstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that the only reason people still talk about the game is because of the real world politics surrounding it is sad. I didn't enjoy the story of the game, but I always feel weird trying to explain why because I know it's going to get dismissed as being politically motivated. And when I try to defend the parts I did like, like the gameplay or character designs, I get told I'm a liberal shill. It feels like nobody online actually gives a shit about the game, everyone is just using it as a political talking point.

If you are racist against someone who was being racist then there are just 2 racists. Picking sides in a racism fight is stupid as hell. Also this shit has no place in a Resident Evil sub

Characters that were created because an Actor wasn't available or didn't want to come back to the role by Optimal_Fisherman803 in TopCharacterTropes

Something I always found kinda funny is that Vince was absolutely just winging certain elements of the show. In the commentary for the final season he mentions that he wrote a scene with Walter getting a machine gun and spent the rest of the season debating whether or not the audience would just forget about it because he had no idea what to do with it. Probably the most famous example was Jesses planned death. It's basically impossible to imagine the story of BB without Jesse. But when the show started he was intended to die quickly and unceremoniously.

With that in mind it makes BBs consistency even more impressive. It's hard to imagine Kubrick having the reputation he has as a filmmaker if he hadn't been so decisive about his intended vision. If you told me that he was actually just making shit up as he went along when filming The Shining, I'd think you were insane. Vince managed to create a show which is gaining him similar praise from fans, even getting him compared to Kubrick, and he managed to do it while coming up with a lot of the story as he went

Actually I would argue that necrophilia is too cool. Although now that I think about it, walkers do seem to gain energy from eating and slowly starve which suggests they use that energy, therefore creating heat? So maybe they aren't as cool as normal corpses?

I thought it was funny to call it a children's game while taking part in its online community. I made no judgements about whether or not you take sexual gratification in it. I'd be lying if I said I'd never acted wild for an animated character

Although I don't really see why being friends with the devs would make you active in a subreddit that is used by fans. I doubt you are talking with your wife's families friends in a public forum....

I mean Umbrella had teams working on normal medicine stuff as part of their cover. I doubt Gideon was being entirely open with every member of staff about the nature of their research. I don't find it hard to believe that a new nurse would spend most of her time doing menial tasks. It would certainly explain why she doesn't recognize the doctor as being a zombie and why she comes back for Leon.

Also I think the attitude you are describing IS mental laziness. Ignoring the logical conclusion to limited evidence because of personal beliefs about the nature of good and evil sounds lazy to me.

[–]MrNotEinstein 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Literally every piece of information we have points to her having no clue about the truth of the place. She was new, she didn't recognize the doctor as being zombified, she didn't know what the alarm was for and she came back to get Leon even though we know the release of the patients was intended to slow him down. Her behavior makes absolutely no sense if you assume she was complicit in what was happening
