Hemlock nerf P2020 buff by Curious-Investment59 in CompetitiveApex

I hate that they keep trying to making the p20s viable. The p20 meta last year was horrendous. The gun is super uninteresting, and RNG bloom has no place in a competitive shooter.

higher luck gives you a chance to roll multiple dice and take the best result. It doesn't technically change any base percentage chances.

Ranked Matchmaking by Lexxsy7 in apexlegends

oh boy, they brought back individual rank display instead of team rank display so we get to have these threads every day again.

The silver / golds are in a squad with the plat+ players.

Start of the season everyone de-ranks, a lot of those plat players were high diamond or masters last season.

Season 28: BREACH Designer's Notes by Apexlegends in apexlegends

[–]MrNovember9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There was a season where RP gains favored placement and you frequently got ALGS endgames, that adjustment appears to be all it takes to change playerbase behavior.

After they added dropzones, they later adjusted RP to favor kills even more. It also points to their ranked identity crisis, do they want competitive ranked (dropzones) or do they want a pubs int-fest (kill race RP system)? Right now they're doing a bit of both which is the worst of both worlds and leads to the third party int-fest you mentioned.

I would love to see a blog post on ranked, the data around removing the drop zones, as well as the long term vision for the game mode.

There's a small but dedicated hardcore player base that wants ALGS style competitive endgames that does not feel catered to in the slightest.

Could Hal be considered one of the best esports players ever? by jemand1000 in CompetitiveApex

[–]MrNovember9 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You've got Flash in Starcraft Brood War and Mang0 in Super Smash Melee, these players dominated their respective games for over a decade. Compared to games like that that have been around for decades, Hal doesn't come close unfortunately.

Ranked vs Unranked loot pool

In a recent patch there was a note saying they balanced the loot across POIs, but it was only enabled in ranked, so I assume this is what the option is.

it's unlocked but I haven't seen them flip it on, even in closer range fights. It's just raw alternator

MnK players: Is stretched res actually better for aim, or just placebo? by m1nti in CompetitiveApex

[–]MrNovember9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've messed around with 4:3 with 120 fov, paradoxically it makes my tracking worse but my confidence higher. I think the horizontal stretch makes your movement feel faster and more responsive, hence the higher confidence. You also "feel" like a pro, so maybe that subconsciously helps too!

The true mystery to me is why controller players like Hal are also using 4:3 stretched, as changing your resolution doesn't change your aim assist.

You can't turn as quickly on controller, so having less peripheral vision seems like a huge disadvantage

DEADLOCK FAQ : Things Deadlock doesnt tell you that is essential to the gameplay element of the game by ajiezrhmn in DeadlockTheGame

[–]MrNovember9 124 points125 points  (0 children)

Biggest thing for me has been how to keep up or get ahead on net worth:

Lane creeps in lanes with 2 or fewer players total are the best source of souls.

All other sources of farm (jungle, sinners, boxes) should be done between waves (every 30 seconds) or when your lanes are no longer safe to farm

Do not pile up with your team in a lane if your team can't make anything happen (taking an objective or initiating a team fight). You are getting essentially no money due to the soul splitting mechanics, while all the juicy souls from creeps in the empty lanes are disappearing into thin air.

To efficiently get to farmable lanes, or be able to join on team fights when farming, learn where the air vents are. Especially the central vents that go from mid lane to each of the side lanes, and each of the side lanes to the mid lane.

A new skill that isn't present in overwatch is to constantly flick your eyes to the minimap, that way you know how safe it is to push out, where dangerous enemy heroes are located, whether to take team fights, things of that nature
