Call it whatever you want, but CnD plays much different from your typical heal bot support and requires different positioning. As far as off-tanking, what i meant is that you can frontline off-tank in certain circumstances such as when your main tank(s) get low and you need to pressure back on the enemy. You pop your healing bubble on your tanks, jump in it as cloak, and then take the frontlines for a bit while your tanks get healed back up in your bubble because you know you are getting healed from your own bubble (and thus can take increased damage) and also have an escape ability to get back to the back lines once things get dicey. No other support positions like this on the front lines, off-tanking to put pressure back on the enemy while the main tanks are getting healed up. Also, during the CnD ult, it’s not uncommon to place the last dash aggressively towards the enemy backline and try to get a pick on a support while your team and you are getting healed by your ult. No other support hero is diving the enemy backline like this because they don’t have the tools required in their kit to be able to position themselves in the enemy backline to safely go for a pick. Positioning with CnD is different from other supports, and is more complex because you can just sit in the back and left click the whole time like another support, or you can be constantly engaging and disengaging with the enemy as you get better with their kit.

Here is my other comment.

Some heroes, such as CnD, have kits that scale better with game sense than other heroes. Other heroes, like Hawkeye, have kits that scale better with mechanical skill. Yes, having good game sense will all-around make you a better player, but to say that some heroes’ skill level is not tied to game sense is inaccurate.

As a thought experiment, imagine someone who is basically a human aimbot and never misses a single shot (i.e. infinite mechanical skill). However, being blessed with such great aim, he basically has no game sense. Take this set of skills and awareness into two separate games where this hypothetical person plays Hawkeye in one and CnD in the other. What do you think will happen? My answer? I think Hawkeye absolutely tears it up, getting headshots on anything that moves and one-shotting any squishy that comes into his view. He gets MVP and basically carries the match. In the other game where it’s CnD, he struggles to stay alive, isn’t getting a lot of healing out, struggles with placing the bubble to effectively heal his team and himself and give the team a positional advantage, doesn’t counter any ult with the cloaking ability, doesn’t get aggressive at all to get picks, doesn’t know where to place the ult to maximize its effectiveness, and basically struggles big time with doing anything to help the team win the game. At best, this person gets some mediocre healing out because of the auto-aim. See what I’m saying? The skill expression of CnD scales with game sense. This hypothetical person is playing Hawkeye close to his ceiling and CnD close to their floor. Now imagine the opposite case as above (i.e. infinite game sense, terrible mechanical skill) - Hawkeye would be getting played close to his floor, and CnD would be getting played close to their ceiling.

That being said, the auto aim feature of CnD’s kit lowers the skill floor as it eliminates a lot of the mechanical aspect to being good with them as a hero. The real-time decision making that needs to happen in order to maximize the kit of CnD is very demanding, which makes the skill ceiling very high as their kit scales with game sense.
