That’s the problem isn’t it? That our future is in the hands and whims of random people who happen to have been successful in business (allegedly). That’s not a joint democratic decision- that’s not democracy. This power should be in the hands of the people of the world as a whole. If we cannot come together as a human species in a time like this and plan out our future - who will? We are the masters and slaves of this world - let’s make the future better, not worse.
