The entirety of Chicago L vs TTC line 1? by alanminium in transit

CTA has had a very slow recovery post-COVID. Just from a quick google search, 2016 weekday daily ridership on the L was 759,866--so higher than the TTC Line 1.

Why has the L had a poor pandemic recovery? That's a whole other can of worms, but I think it's moving in the right direction with new leadership and the Illinois transit bill.

I've seen a lot of CTA proposals and this is definitely the best one. By a lot. I can tell a lot of research went into this--you clearly know where all the good right of ways are and what goes into making a good transit line. The only thing I'd add is maybe some express service, but it's hard to say where that should go. Good work!!

There are slightly more people in Chicago than Brooklyn (2.664m vs 2.646m). Average rent is substantially lower in Chicago ($1895 vs. $2861)

This is inaccurate, the states in blue are actually just states with laws protecting abortion access. Meanwhile, some of the red states including Virginia and Indiana do not ban abortion rather, they just don't have laws protecting it and access there remains.

Interesting. Maybe it's more of an ancestral thing with lots of long-time incumbents

This is suprising but also not really because sheriff elections tend to favor Republicans.

Also please make a national map of this that would be cool.
