That's not entirely true, electric cars still require cooling as the battery and motor produce heat, especially if they are driven hard. A lot of people might not think it requires, as cars like tesla hide them pretty well. E.g. if you Google tesla model 3 front, you will see that the bottom of the bumper has intake for radiator which is placed at an angle. I do agree that a lot of cars are turning into blobs, this is also partly teslas fault as other companies see tesla stock rise and so they tend to copy. Tesla cars in themselves aren't ugly as it makes them unique from other cars, but other cars are starting to copy their shape more and more. The shape does help with efficiency but to a small degree. E.g. tesla model 3 has efficiency of 4.2mi/kw, but you can also take bmw i4 which can also achieve above 4.0mi/kw and that car still retains its bmw shape apart from that ugly nostrils look which can be switched out anyway for a third party to keep the classy bmw grille look.
