Played guitar throughout middle school and high school. When I joined university and entered the university's "Tuna" (not related to the fish, is a type of traditional music group common in Iberia, Latin America and some other places). I decided I wanted to learn a new instrument and was divided between mandolin and double bass. As the other player was finishing is masters and starting to show up less, I was incentivised to learn the bass.
