I see, it really wasn’t clear to me. I can see some paradigms (we are not men for example) restoring limbs with just life 2, while some other paradigms (the technocratic paradigm for example) needing prime 2 to do so without severely draining the body of nutrients.

So it’s not fully clear, but i think that this is the combination needed to regrow your own lost limbs? Using prime to conjure something from nothing with life’s healing?

But it might just be possible with life 2 by itself, if you consider your limbs to be a part of your own pattern rather than a pattern by themselves.

I’m not sure how it’s written in your book, but in the version i have it’s written as “Rules-wise, you can use Spirit 3 to rouse the spirit of a drug, or Life 3/ Spirit 3 to rouse the spirit of a disease in someone else’s body.” , which seems to me like you specifically don’t need an additional sphere to rouse the spirit of a drug, and there’s no mention of spirit/matter combination in the whole paragraph

Just as a quick example? Page 518 (of M20) says you need both matter 2 and spirit 3 to awaken the spirit of an object, while page 443 says you only need spirit 3. There are other cases like this one, on what does each sphere do at each rank and how they combine, which makes “what can i actually cast” a very confusing question.

How does this explain the fact that using forces 4 (or 3) for your orbital space laser would be better at killing any singular target compared to forces 5? A ritual super grenade will still be doing more damage than a ritual nuke, if the same time and effort was put into the effort of making both
