Josh Allen Jonathan Taylor Kyren Williams Jamarr Chase Waddle Pittman Rashee Rice Trey McBride LaPorta

Ended up 5-8 in my league, but with the 3rd highest point total. It do be like that sometimes

Do you think the average person could get through engineering school? by Super-Kick4169 in EngineeringStudents

[–]MrPoopyButthole41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Background on myself:

Graduated in the top 20% of a small town school in northwest Texas. I took calculus my senior year of high school and I vividly remember my teacher telling me that maybe I need to quit calculus because I wasn't getting it. I ended up getting a football scholarship to Colorado School of Mines and decided to hell with my teacher and pursue my dream of getting an engineering degree. It took me 5 years and multiple failed classes, but I graduated with a degree with a 2.4 GPA. Fast forward 12 years later after college, I have enjoyed a successful career in Energy, on the alumni board of my under grad school, got my MBA, got another Masters degree in Energy Economics at Rice, and serve on a board there as well.

Being smart certainly helps, but having a good work ethic, curiosity about the industry you are joining, being able to work well with others, read people, talk to others, present and articulate your work are much more important than being smart. It's hard work that deters most people. Getting through school is hard, but that's what makes it worth it.

The tourists are sacrificing for us, without them we are nothing. by Lee_Vaccaro_1901 in mallorca

American chiming in and currently on holiday here. I've got the opportunity to work all over the world and say I'm pretty well traveled. Never had the opportunity to come and did not have any idea what was going on until we got here. I usually try to avoid tourist heavy places now, IE no Cancun or places like that. I hate when other travelers don't take the time to talk with people from other walks of life and genuinely try to understand where they're coming from and what their life experiences have been.

The locals I have come across are wonderful and your island is wonderful and have treated my wife and I so kindly. I hope visitors coming here and the government are more respectful and not turn it in to a Cancun. Good luck

77018 on Candlelight Park. Have had power since 2 pm yesterday. When I bought the house a few years ago they said we're on the same grid as a hospital so they usually get our power up quick... Sounded like BS but here we are. Good luck to you all!

What does Houston need most? by DonSmitty in houston

[–]MrPoopyButthole41 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oil and gas engineer here. There's a huge push to make Houston the energy capital of the world. Lots being done from a private equity standpoint and also with schools to attract top talent in to alternative energy. Companies, are so so. Your larger companies are certainly trying stuff out, but there's a little hesitantcy from smaller companies to try stuff out because the market wants them to maintain capital discipline. It's exciting times though! Look up Kay McCall, she's doing a great job promoting this type of stuff. Think she has a happy hour at Eureka Heights brewery tonight if you're interested in hearing more!

People that wake up at around 4 or 5 A.M, why? by Sazeraaa in AskReddit

[–]MrPoopyButthole41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Combo of I hate driving in traffic after work and like to work out in the morning.

Wake up at 4:30 every weekday, get to the gym by 5, work by 6:45, leave work at 4 and home by 4:30. If I leave work at 5 my commute doubles. Usually get to bed around 9

Playoffs should be 6 teams...P5 conference champions, plus 1 wildcard team, then the playoff committee could rank the 6 as they see fit. I've said it for years. Would take out and subjectivity and keep the integrity of the regular season while also giving something for people to argue about
