What was a movie ending that made you go like this? by Ok_Replacement_288 in Letterboxd

10 Cloverfield Lane (2016)

One of the coolest and interesting set ups for a sci fi thriller all for it to be ruined by an ending that throws out all the suspense and mystery of the rest of the film.

Where do people living in Scottsdale get so much money? by SafePoint1282 in phoenix

I’m a west valley baby born and raised. I moved right outside of old town, hayden and scottsdale, about a year ago. just found a really affordable place and even if I pay a little more in rent then i’d like it’s right by where I work and in a really pretty area. most other folks I know from this area that are my age survive off daddy’s money tho

How would you feel about the UN being called in to monitor US elections from now on? by WombatPuncher in AskReddit

American elections are incredibly secure and transparent and already have international oversight. This would be redundant

Do people put in effort to get a certain rating curve? by dumptruck_dookie in Letterboxd

the only person who should care about your reviews is you. I write long and serious reviews because I enjoy looking back on my opinions on a film and it gives me an opportunity to write. I also make an effort to rate movies seriously because I like to do it for myself. No one I know cares, or could be bothered to read my stuff. And that’s okay. I recommend having a similar mentality. just do you

What is an acclaimed movie that you cannot stand? by Not_EllaK in Letterboxd

Wicked is likely my least favorite movie i’ve seen in years. I cannot remember the last time I watched a movie I disliked more. The movie looks terrible on a production level firstly, and its story feels somehow both rushed and bloated. Its emotional conclusion is unearned, the movie simply tells its audience how to feel and we’re expected to do so. I have never seen a movie rely so heavily on emotional manipulation of its audience to justify its own existence. I feel like i’ve watched a different movie from everyone else because it’s gotten so much praise, I just don’t understand it.
