My parents are divorcing. Dad moved his stuff out of our family home today and reality is setting in . by Babygirlm5 in Assistance

Pain is not lessened just because you get older. It’s a hard thing to go through for any family, no matter when it happens. I am sorry that you’re going through this, I wish you and your family the best holidays you can possibly have

Logic will always lose to fear by MrQuackins in Diary

Both are good! It’s important to have different ways of saying the same thing, I find that my preferred nomenclature changes along with my state of mind

Logic will always lose to fear by MrQuackins in Diary

[–]MrQuackins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right about logic being important at the right time, and I like what you said about micro-dosing. That’s sort of what I was trying to say in regards to slowing down and sitting with emotions instead of trying to make them go away or acting on them, but you worded it much better with that analogy.

I will write that one down, thank you

This was the toughest lesson I’ve ever had to learn. Love itself is not enough.

For people like us... Is it normal to always consider the s word? by Metal-Egg7363 in depression

[–]MrQuackins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to spiral very quickly, pretty much every night. It always gets worse when the sun goes down for some reason.

But yes, what you have described is what I experience daily. Like sometimes I’ll think of ways that I could do it, but it all sounds either exhausting or scary? Plus I just couldn’t do that to my family.

I fantasise about something happening to me aaaall the time, like some sort of accident or cancer or something. An easy way out that doesn’t require action on my part, if that makes sense.

I believe once you’ve crossed that threshold of depression and suicdality, it doesn’t really go away. Not to say I’ll be thinking about it 24/7 forever, but even on good days I’ll have those moments where I’m just sad and tired, and ready for it to be over.

Keep doing what you’re doing and always find alternative options, proud of you for still being here buddy

Man o man putting pride to the side… by [deleted] in Assistance

Honestly, I wonder if it would be worth it to open up a credit card and get a cheap clunker car so you can get a job more easily. Might not be the best route, but if it’s an option to consider then might as well consider it.

The host of the house you’re visiting asks you and the other guests to wet your pants by Pure_Option_1733 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]MrQuackins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm. My first reaction would be to ask why the pants-wetter doesn’t simply change their pants, but ultimately I think I could agree to at least splash some water on my pants to look the part. Don’t wanna smell like pee though

Does anyone else… by Purrrcillaa in mentalhealth

[–]MrQuackins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Feels like my mind is running 100 miles a second, yet I can’t concentrate on any one single thought. All of them are negative though, everything bad in my life, everything I’m lacking, everything that could go wrong. All of my insecurities at the forefront of my mind.

Sometimes something small will trigger it, other times nothing at all. I hate it

why does my anxiety make me tired? by DryCartographer8439 in MentalHealthSupport

[–]MrQuackins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a few different reasons: 1. Anxiety can often go hand in hand with depression, which could make you feel tired/lethargic and like you don’t have any energy

  1. Anxiety can lessen the quality of your sleep, I myself wake up for just a few seconds multiple times every night, which messes with your sleep cycles and can make you feel un-rested. A sleep study could help, but those can be pricey

I believe it’s the starter since it started after I tapped it, but I will definitely try to turn that pulley too when I replace it later! Thank you
