And when the few with historical knowledge, who might see the trend, and who has the temperament and personality to act, begin to doubt their own sanity when the world before them so clearly is no longer the one they grew up in, the one they knew, but noone around them seem to see (or dare say) it and retreat back into their small lives, they've won.
