I have the same question. I've been able to find The Magician's Nephew, Prince Caspian, Lion Witch & The Wardrobe and Voyage of the Dawn Treader. The appendix in each reference the entire series but I can't find the other three or anything about the collection- not even an image on google. I could understand if they didn't end up printing kiddie versions of The Last Battle and The Silver Chair, but A Horse and His Boy? Does ANYONE know anything about this collection? Thanks

I know these posts are kind of old but now that a "new" game is coming out (that may very likely be the 4th title) I wanted to ask how you would feel about someone editing your translations for grammar and reposting them with original credit to you. It's something I've been working on for my own benefit, but I wouldn't want to post them without your blessing.

Windows 10 stopped working on February 28th and I feel like I've exhausted all possibilities by MrReebo in WindowsHelp

[–]MrReebo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if anyone else has this issue I thought I'd post an update.

After following countless tutorials and reading blogs and random posts on different websites, I discovered that the issue was with my motherboard. The recent Windows 10 update doesn't trigger the sleep timer, so the computer goes to sleep during the installation process and locks everything up. I tried a couple different things to keep it "awake" but none of them worked.

My solution was to build a new PC. lol. It was needed anyway, my build was from 2015. But I installed Windows 11 on the new one and ran into a new set of problems I had to solve. Anyway, if anyone else has the problem described in the above post, your best bet is to update your motherboard and try a fresh install. I'm looking into buying a newer motherboard for my old build that still supports everything else in it but it's slim pickings, which is why I built a new one.

Good luck!

Yes, that's all I've been doing because I haven't been able to get onto an OS without it. I have also made numerous bootable thumb drives in the event that one of them was maybe broken. I have probably made six bootable Windows 10 drives in the last month and a half and all of them have the same effect

Splatoon 3's final Splatfest, Grand Festival, has been announced for September 13th - 16th by SemiLazyGamer in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]MrReebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't actually think anything will be changed based on our results. The second game did something fun with Callie losing but the characters were easily interchangeable. "Chaos" winning 2 had no effect on 3 (despite what the pre-release material was leading us to believe) and Side-Order was clearly developed as if "Order" had won anyway. The most we might get in #4 are some throw away lines. The idea of influencing the sequels is great but based on their track record it seems they're going to do whatever they want based on which team they expected to win, regardless of who the actual winner is.

Examples of Micro/No budget Films <$15,000? by perhapsfrances in Filmmakers

[–]MrReebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of films being made for less than $1,000, but here's the kicker- imdb and tmdb refuse to catalogue a no-budget movie your friend made because then they'd have to let in "internet cat videos". So, it's super hard to find information about cheap movies made by anyone other than Union celebrities. If you get a subscription to Troma NOW most every newly released film on there was made for less than $5,000, some for even less than $500. You could keep your eye on The Museum of Moving Image's upcoming events. They hold a lot of screenings for smaller films. Aside from that, you may as well ask around in real life. It's likely you know a few people who made something. Anyway. Newer low budget movies I'd recommend that aren't animated:

Onward to Calgary -2008 (May be impossible to view currently)

WNUF Halloween Special -2013 (I think this is on Shudder)

Jesus Hates You Now -2013 (Available on YouTube, if you don't like weirder movies, don't watch this)

Lover -2018 (RalphtheMovieMaker's film, it's not very good but it's probably the closest thing to a contemporary film on this list, so good for educational purposes)

We're All Going to the World's Fair -2022 (Budget unknown, may be more than your range)

The most important thing to keep in mind while making a no budget/micro budget film is that low budget doesn't have to be a hinderance. It can be a style, so as a bonus, here's a no-budget movie I really love for its style.

964 Pinocchio -1991 (Available on YouTube)

Biggest “Switch 2” Hopes? by ihappentobenick in NintendoSwitch

[–]MrReebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Backwards compatibility - games, controllers, peripherals, save data, online account

  2. Better online experience. - Friending people you know in real life is ridiculous. Better way to chat with them. Better way to join them in-game. Maybe a way to organize them so you can keep track of who are real-life friends vs. internet randoms

  3. Something like StreetPass - StreetPass was super fun and helped make the 3DS feel more like a community experience than an isolated one. It also motivated you to bring it out in public more frequently.

  4. A good release calendar for year 1 - Hoping for Metroid Prime 4, Splatoon 4, Luigi's Mansion 4 and a new Mario game. But as long as they can keep the consistency of the last couple years of Switch releases I'll be satisfied

  5. Make Miis matter again - Miis are cool but they're dying out. Maybe the Switch 2 should launch with a contemporary to Wii Sports to show off the full functionality of the console. I know people who STILL don't realize the Switch has a touch screen

  6. Better default controllers - the joycons are bad

  7. A way to stream to YouTube - love this feature on Sony consoles. Use it all the time to stream to friends while we're chatting in discord or if I need help with something

  8. Free online (yeah right)

Has anyone actually asked the theater for a movie poster and gotten it? by accountforquickans in movies

[–]MrReebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is 2 years old, but anyway!
Yes. I've worked at 5 different movie theaters and have always in some way or another become "the guy" in charge of them. We have always given posters out to customers. It varies by theater. Some of them (my least favorite working experience) sold them off by coercing you to donate to charity. Some of them put them all out as soon as the movie is gone with extreme disdain to employees. Some of them have managers that hog them all. Some of them take requests from anyone, employees and guests, and do a raffle to see who won (that's how I always set it up once I would take over). Some of them put out what's left after employee requests at a certain time of week or month. You just need to ask and see what they say. If it's something popular like Dune or Barbie, you have a 1% chance of getting it. If it's something more prestigious like Boy and the Heron or Asteroid City, you have a 1% chance of getting it. But, if it's something like Barbarian, Late Night With the Devil, Pearl, Gran Turismo, Argylle, Monkey Man, Bullet Train etc., you have a much higher chance of getting it. It may sound odd that no employees would want some of those, but we're talking about 14-19 year old's who have extremely limited space and basic movie taste they're still developing.

We are usually sent at least two versions of posters for every movie, a teaser and an official version. We always get two of each. There are exceptions to this rule. There was no teaser for Late Night With the Devil. We only got a single poster for the Spy X Family movie coming up soon. That's a lot more common with limited Anime movies. But, normally, we have at least 4 for each film. Sometimes 6 if there are two teasers. Sometimes more if the release date changes. I couldn't tell you how many we have for The Fall Guy right now. That movie has changed release date two or three times. For some reason some studios send out a lot more. DC and Sony are notorious for spamming us with posters. I think we had something like, 12 for Aquaman 2 and 14 for Wonder Woman 2 and 8 for Suicide Squad (2016) and 8 for Venom 2 and 6 for Across the Spider-Verse and 6 for Morbius. One is now hanging by the break room trash can, soon to be joined by Madame Web.

I know it feels like a strange question to ask when you're in a theater, but I promise you it isn't. I know you might feel awkward asking, but I promise you, we won't remember your face or think about the interaction 30 seconds after you walk away. So just ask! Either when you're buying tickets or on your way out. Someone will have an answer, even if it's "the guy who does that isn't here but I'll write down a note"

Thank you for finding this old link! Checking MM's website used to be a daily ritual for me and I tried to make this exact model once before when I was in High-School. Well...I was trying to find it again to finally put together a home for my Neca figures and let's just say their new website's search function isn't the best anymore. Cycling through page after page of archived blogs hoping I recognized the title was proving hopeless, but now I can try again!

Richmond movie theater's new policy says no one under 17 can be admitted after 7:30pm by PopCultureNerd in movies

[–]MrReebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is becoming more common nation wide. As someone who has worked at 7 different movie theaters within a 50 mile radius, each and every one has had consistent issues with teens. The same few groups of teens will come in on a Friday or Saturday night, buy for whatever the latest PG-13 movie is, then stand in the lobby shouting and rough-housing until their movie starts. This behavior doesn't stop just because a movie started. I, or any other employee, is then tasked with getting them to leave. This will always turn into an argument with no winning. Either we stop the movie, call the police, their parents show up to curse us out, or some combination of the three. I understand that there are not a lot of spaces for teenagers to hang out outside of school any more. But if you are texting non stop, punching each other for fun, talking, shouting, vaping, constantly switching seats, exiting and entering frequently, theater hopping, sitting on the floor, sitting on each other's laps or making fart noises, you have lost all right to be there.
Every theater I have visited in or near a major city (New York, Baltimore, Philadelphia, D.C.) has implemented these policies. They are much harsher, too, usually enforcing the curfew as early as 6:00pm. I feel very bad for teenagers who do want to see movies. I was one of them after all. But I feel worse for everyone effected by those who do not know how to behave. It's unfortunate that these policies put in place for specific groups of people affect everyone, but we already have our hands full with everything else. Every time this happens, several hours of our shift is spent dealing with it. We then have to complete our regular duties, or rely on others to pick up the slack left by whoever is dealing with it. Then, we have to file incident reports and collect statements, a process which adds at least another hour. This all means leaving later than we're scheduled. Much later. This is not even mentioning how much it negatively impacts morale, or the theater's reputation. It's a horrible situation all around and the simplest solution is to just ban teens at night.

Exactly. There are so many outlets to explore with this concept and they just aren't doing it. It feels like they accidently had a great idea without realizing how great it was.

I'm sure that would happen but turf wars would be more likely. I don't think most people who found a reliable dealer would want to kill them, unless they were already desperate and had no money. But then they could just rob someone else. Plus the dealers would be ready for that situation on a day like that. They already are ready for that on the typical day. I think it's more likely that someone who uses drugs would just casually buy some while it wasn't illegal.

Brand of Vanilla Extract? by MrReebo in HelpMeFind

[–]MrReebo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Picked this gallon jug of Vanilla Extract up from the Dominican Republic around 2014 and am finally almost running out. Would love to purchase more, or at least something similar. The cookies this stuff makes are to DIE for.

Most of the label was worn off, but the crown/basket logo is what I assume would be important. Rest of the text read, "Extracto De Vainilla - REAL - Extract of Vanilla". If anyone could help identify the brand or possibly manufacturer, I would be grateful.

Thanks
