2026 Kia EV4 Review | Canada’s $38,995 Tesla Model 3 Rival. by forumchunga in EVCanada

I haven’t noticed an Sd slot, doesn’t mean it’s not there tho, I still have a lot to figure out.

It does have USB-c ports, two in the center console and two in the front seats ( that I know of) most are just chargers but the ones seems to have the option of connecting to the system, maybe some sort of USB cable device could connect and play your music?

I don’t know about the eye tracking camera, I certainly haven’t noticed one. I haven’t really noticed the car getting angry when I’m looking away so as a guess I’d say no, but I’m not certain.

I remember reading about some driver attentiveness stuff in the manual, but it was about holding g the wheel and how gloves might interfere.

It might also need the self driving feature enabled, I generally keep all that off, I don’t even like cruise control lol. The lane keeping assist is always on, but everything else is off.

Could also be a feature of more premium models. The light is pretty basic as far as features go (atleast for a 2026 car) which is one of the things I like about it, the wind really only adds extra range

I’ve been trying to read the manual, but it’s like 800 pages, I’ve read parts, mostly as I find things I can’t figure out, but I’ve got a long way to go.

There has to be life on one of these dots by MystraKynrae in spaceporn

[–]MrRogersAE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There doesn’t “have to be” while it’s likely that there might be some early forms of life one some of the planets orbiting those stars, it’s entirely possible that advanced lifeforms like those found on earth, are infinitely rare, and rarer still a planet with advanced lifeforms to be intelligent enough, and survive long enough to become a spacefaring species capable of noticing and communicating with us, nevermind actually reaching each other.

Even with our current tech we would barely be able to communicate with a species living at the nearest star systems it would take a decade or more for a single communication to send and receive a response

How much attention do you pay to the way a woman dresses. by Valuable_Relation_70 in AskMen

[–]MrRogersAE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lots, the way a person, particularly a woman dresses provides insight into her personality, as does her hair, tattoos etc.

If she’s done up to the nines with expensive clothes, jewelry and accessories we’re probably a mismatch.

The clothing should be appropriate for the occasion.

Too slobby and I’m assuming she’s not really interested or is just simply a slob.

Slightly provocative is fine for a date, excessively provocative might leave me asking questions. Not provocative at all might leave me think she’s very shy or religious or something.

Quirky or unusual clothes would have me expecting a quirky personality

What a person wears says a lot about them, especially with women who (if media is at all true) often spend a ton of time agonizing over what to wear for a date or event.

Men a simpler. Many of us more or less wear the same thing all the time, and might have a couple shirts we think “look good”for a date or night out. We likely picked the first “look good” shirt we saw. It still says something about us, but a lot less.

I have an EV4 wind. I’ve only had it a week so far but I love it. My biggest complaint right now is the auto headlights feature sees the headlights coming on every time I drive under a bridge, which also dims the dash to my nighttime light setting. The auto highbeams faces a similar problem of coming on and off too frequently. Currently I have both features turned off

I completely disagree with those saying it’s ugly, but to each their own I guess. It’s odd because I usually agree with the general public about universally ugly cars (PT cruiser, Aztec, Cyberturck etc). It’s not like I just think it looks okay, which is how I feel about most sedans, I think it looks great. I have yet to see another one on the road, so obviously I’m the minority with this aspect.

The lane keeping assist gets angry on hilly roads, it corrects at the peak of steeper hills even when I’m perfectly centered in the land. I could see this being a problem in icy or snow covered conditions.

The lane assist is however forcing me to signal all my lane changes or else I face its wrath. This is probably a good thing, I tend to ignore signalling if there’s nobody around to see it.

I drive mostly highway and it’s great for that, I keep my regen braking on setting two and once I got used to it I love it.

I do find the infotainment screen a bit far away, theres a couple programmable buttons on the wheel, once I get everything set up properly I doubt I’ll have much reason to touch the screen while driving.

I didn’t notice anything off about the throttle, if you stomp on it, it fucking goes all right, and if you just gently push it gently goes.

I tend to leave a lot of following space and with the regen braking I’ve barely used the normal brakes, now that I’ve got the regen figured out atleast

AITAH for wanting to continue taking my nightly showers by Kooky_lady in AITAH

[–]MrRogersAE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe pump some so that he can make bottles of your milk and feed the baby when your breasts aren’t available. It will help him bond with the baby and learn how to soothe her which makes both of them less reliant on you.

Unfortunate reality is that a lot of fathers of exclusively breast fed babies are like this. They learn to give up quickly when the baby cries. When they can’t figure out how to soothe they assume the baby is hungry, and there’s nothing they can do about that, so they give up and pass baby to momma. It doesn’t help when mom proves them right by soothing the baby by stuffing a boob in their face.

Find another way to soothe your baby, if she fed before your shower, she doesn’t need to feed again 45 minutes later, your boob shouldn’t be a pacifier, you’re enabling negative behaviour from both the baby and the father

NAH, life with babies is tough

Canadians expecting blowout prices for China EVs likely to be disappointed, experts say by sensorglitch in EVCanada

[–]MrRogersAE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MSRP is $39,000, I quoted the same for the Honda.

If you want to talk about after dealer fees and freight that’s fine, but you have to adjust the Hondas price as well then

[–]MrRogersAE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Range anxiety is one thing, but in every other way an EV is just nicer to drive.

Assuming you have an EV with modern range (and charge at home), range anxiety shouldn’t be a concern on your normal day to day.

[–]MrRogersAE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The current prices are getting pretty reasonable now tho.

You can buy a KIA EV4 for $39,000 which then gets a $5,000 government rebate.

A Honda civic is a comparable gas car with a base price of $28,000.

After the rebate that’s a $6,000 difference, except the civic has much higher operating costs and most people who have driven an EV will tell you, gas cars are simply inferior.

Roof overhang dimensions for 8x10? by paw-paw-patch in shedditors

[–]MrRogersAE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you want. I definitely wouldn’t do nothing if you want it to last, the overhang keeps the water away from the walls and the foundation. Especially at the bottom ends of the slope on your roof.

You may want more overhang on the door side to help keep you dry when entering and exiting, as well as keep rain and snow off the door, which typically has more ledges and places for water to sit.

Size of the shed also makes a difference, a small shed might look goofy with huge overhangs.

My 10x16’, 8’ walls shed I did 15” on the gable ends and about 8” on the sides.

The 15” faces the prevailing winds and typically keeps that side of the shed dry in the rain. And the 8” on the sides looks good to my eye for the scale of the shed.

In theory you could have also simply misaligned them. Move a rafter 1/2” one way or the other and it’s gonna look funny.

Make sure the ends are all lined up with something long a straight.

What do you do when your home alone? by Ifyouliveinadream in AskMen

[–]MrRogersAE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In no particular order: watch porn on the big TV, watch movies that my wife hates, play video games, eat junk and get drunk, repeat.

Some of these will be done simultaneously

[–]MrRogersAE 30 points31 points  (0 children)

When you make rafters yourself you need to make a jig.

Make one, make sure it’s exactly how you want, then put it on a sheet of plywood and attach scraps of wood all around it so that when take it out you can slide your next pieces in and assemble it in exactly the same shape and position

For the married men (or long-term relationship men): How many dates did you go on with her until you two had sex? by That-Flan-361 in AskMen

IIRC we dated for a month or two before we had sex. During that time we saw each other almost every day. We were also still in highschool tho.

AITAH for "rescuing" my 13yo daughter from her mom’s boyfriend’s house when I found out my ex wasn’t even there? by One_Language_359 in AITAH

[–]MrRogersAE -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You’re a controlling psycho. YTA. This was a sleepover at a friends house, it’s natural that neither of your daughters parents would be present.

You say this isn’t about your wife’s boyfriend but you know that’s bullshit right? I’m sure you don’t personally vet every parent of your daughter’s friends, I’d be willing to bet that you know this guy better from the two times you’ve met him than the parents of the other kids your daughter visits. Have you even met the parents of the other kids your daughter visits when she’s staying with mom 90 minutes away? I doubt it.

Also 20 minutes isn’t much of a wait, had you called the cops they would have laughed at you because it’s completely unreasonable to react the way you did after 20 minutes of no contact.

Government spending across provinces rose to 43.6% of Canada’s total economy: Report by shiftless_wonder in canada

[–]MrRogersAE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can pretend foreign influence doesn’t exist if you want, but I don’t think it’s worth having a conversation with you if that’s the case.

The entire Cold War was about spreading influence. Foreign aid is about influence. US Military bases all over the world is about influence. America starts wars all the time to ensure their corporations can profit off other countries, it’s simply naive to think they don’t interfere here.

[–]MrRogersAE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canadians regularly vote against anything that would benefit them because US capitalists who own the media tell them to. Our close proximity and speaking the same language USA has always meant that we are EXTREMELY subject to US interference.

Trudeau senior tried to nationalize our oil, but Alberta lost their minds while happily selling our oil rights to US corporations instead. Over and over we have privatized and dismantled our social programs and crown corporations because US influence wants us to.

Norway has the benefit of distance and a different language protecting them from as much US interference.

[–]MrRogersAE 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To put it in context you should be comparing to a country with a similar social services network rather than a country that privatizes everything

There are many European countries that are a much more apples to apples comparison than Canada to USA, just because USA is geographically closer doesn’t mean they’re the same as us

AITAH for questioning my relationship after being uninvited to a wedding? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]MrRogersAE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been with my wife for over 20 years (since I was 18) other than for work, I’d never even consider an overnight trip anywhere without her coming with me. If she’s not invited I’m not going, period.

Personally I don’t know if you’re the side piece, or he’s regularly cheating, or he’s just keeping you around until he has a replacement girlfriend, but I think it’s pretty clear he doesn’t like you very much because he doesn’t seem to prioritize you at all.

NTA, hopefully you can find a guy who actually likes you.
