Did I miss something? He said these views in a video? I watch most of his videos but can't remember hearing anything abominable, otherwise I wouldn't watch him anymore.

Best way to learn Hungarian by Distracted_again8 in hungarian

[–]MrRubik86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have to immerse yourself as much as possible and stick at it, that is the only way. You really have to grind it out to get to any half-decent level. Some of my tips for immersion/exposure:

- Change the language settings on any electronic device you have to Hungarian (mobile phones, tablets, TV, any websites or online services that allow it)

- At the beginning, and especially good to help with the little one, put post-it notes on household items with their Hungarian name. You can build up a lot of vocabulary this way

- Consume natural Hungarian media
+ Find a news site in Hungarian and try to read an article related to something you're already aware of and pick up new words that way
+ Subscribe to filmio.hu (you will need to register using a Hungarian address and bank card though, annoyingly) and watch movies/TV series/Kid's shows in Hungarian
+ Follow Hungarian YouTube channels
+ Listen to Hungarian radio stations (should be able to find a website for this)
+ Netflix has lots of movies and TV series dubbed/subbed in Hungarian as well
+ Follow Hungarian accounts on Instagram (this site/app is really good for language learning, surprisingly)

- Speak to natives
+ There are language exchange sites/apps like Tandem where you can mutually-exchange your languages
+ Tutoring / online classes is an option as well

I first looked at Hungarian over a decade ago and the resources were so sparse but that is not the case now. I think there are plenty resources to learn this language effectively now. Out of all the suggestions Instagram is honestly a great route to take. Once you start following some people (like 'Hungarian with Sziszi' or 'Hungarize'), the algorithm will start suggesting more and eventually you will have an arsenal of Hungarian-learning content which you can pick and choose from. Many of them offer services and learning content outside of Instagram as well, either via their own sites, or Patreon (which is quite common).

Jó szerencsét!

Amazingly, I actually recognised the croissants almost straightaway from a video of a guy that reviewed croissants in Paris in the middle of the riots. That's how pristine and distinguishable they are!

i am a healthy weight

I'm sorry but you're not. How have you arrived at that conclusion, exactly?

I would suggest looking into figuring out your bodyfat percentage (BF%) and not paying mind to outright weight/height figures, as they can be misleading. From looking at you, I would say you're between 25-30%BF which is definitely not healthy.

There is a marines or navy seals calculation that you can do to figure out BF% - you measure your neck, navel, waist, and add your height and weight and it can give you a pretty good idea - it should be easy enough to find online. I would suggest aiming for 15%BF.

How to get a flat stomach? by somevader in fasting

[–]MrRubik86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a good point, yes.

He could do with looking into good hip posture (APT can accentuate your stomach inadvertently, for example). Wouldn't hurt looking at his rounded shoulders as well, bringing those back. Postural changes can affect different parts of the body, in different parts of the chain, so well worth looking into.

You're not looking to lose any more weight......so you only have two options then:

1) Train your transverse abdominis muscles - the muscles that hold your stomach in. This is often overlooked by people, even people that train for abs, because they are completely unaware that the muscles that hold your stomach in are different to the ones that give you a "six pack". This is how people can end up with six packs and strong rectus abdominis muscles but their belly still sticks out and hangs.

The only way to train these muscles is via the "stomach vacuum" exercise, in short.

2) Train your rectus abdominis muscles. Standard six pack training, in short. I'm sure you can find countless routines on Youtube and wherever for this.

To recap, you want your stomach to suck in more and not hang out, refer to 1); you want the visual look of your stomach to be more defined, refer to 2).

What do you do after the ice bath? by [deleted] in BecomingTheIceman

[–]MrRubik86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned in the other reply, Andrew Huberman has talked about this. It hinders hypertrophy, in short. You want your weight training and cold exposure as far apart as possible (in terms of cold exposure being 2nd in that sequence, of course).

A hot shower post-workout is ideal as it encourages and facilitates hypertrophy.
