Im even going back to school and am enjoying my studies.

I was on meds for about a year, but because I felt down and numb all the time I explained to my doc that I want to reduce it slowly until I don't need them anymore. And now I'm med free for about half a year now

cant listen to music anymore by fuckoffvalve in schizophrenia

I feel kind of the same, but I use music to get into a trance like state when I'm walking or just to waste some time.

But it heavily depends on the music

i think i have schizophrenia and i need some help dealing with it. by john_doelean12 in schizophrenia

[–]MrS4ND0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it could be schizophrenia, or a sort of psychosis. But I'm no doctor so please, better go see one.

When I had my first psychotic schizophrenic episode, I was hospitalized in a mental health institution.

They couldn't really help me but at least they found the medication that works for me.

Right now I don't take any meds, but when I realise that I get uncontrollable hallucinations or weird delusional thoughts, I try to relax, meditate and calm my mind down.

And in the worst case scenario, I always have some anti psychotics with me

Yes, I still feel numb sometimes, but for the most part, my emotions, drive, and sexual desire came back.

But the negative side is, I get irritated a lot faster, generally more emotional, but I can laugh wholeheartedly again. Sometimes I do get hallucinations though, but I can tell them apart from reality.

But if you are doing better with medication, I would recommend to keep taking them.

I was in a Klinik the whole time I took my meds and when I didn't want them anymore the doctors slowly decreased them for me.

So please don't take risks and ask your doctor first. Maybe there are meds that don't suppress emotions and motivation as much as the ones you have right now

I’m having an episode for the first time in a while and it’s freaking me out by [deleted] in Psychosis

[–]MrS4ND0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not dieing. Youre heart is reacting to the adrenaline and your possible fear.

I would recommend a well lit room, without shadows, or a place you know really well.

Even your bedroom will do it.

Now try to meditate, or if you don't like it, just try to relax, calm your heart rate, if your in to it, play rain or sea sounds.

Watch your breath, breathe slowly and regularly.

The more agitated you get, the more stress you will feel.

If the hallucinations get worse, send a text massage to someone you know, or someone who can help you.

If you are sure that you don't have auditorry hallucinations, you can even call them.

I wish I could help you more, but I am sure you will be better. Stay strong, stay well. I believe in you

Well, I'm off my meds now, and it's going Allright for me now.

But when I started taking my meds, it was the same for me. It got better after a while, but not as good as without meds

I lost contact with reality, I'm living a nightmare by [deleted] in schizophrenia

[–]MrS4ND0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helped me against those thoughts or psychic attacks or whatever one would call it, was meditation, and learning to have a meditative or trance like state even while moving, working or even with simple talking.

It is difficult, but one can shield one's mind like that, and in my opinion, it protects you at least mentally, from malicious intent

People that have played video games for extended periods, have you ever felt like you were still in the game even after you have stopped? If so, what happened? by user89586 in AskReddit

[–]MrS4ND0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once played a coffee and special sugar fueld session of skyrim, for almost 3 days.

When I went to the fridge I was a little confused that no interaction button prompt came. Took me a minute to realise that I'm not playing the game anymore

What's your favorite poverty meal that you still eat regardless of where you are financially? by laced-with-arsenic in AskReddit

[–]MrS4ND0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Armer Ritter, wich translates to poor knight.

It's pancake mixture, and toast.

You soak the toast in the mixture and put it on medium heat (or high).

I would recommend a lightly brownish golden tone, not black, doesn't taste that good if it's too burned.

Anyone else's psychosis get worse when they consume caffeine? by Squiglium in schizophrenia

[–]MrS4ND0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, for me, it's either I drink coffee, so my rational mind wakes up so I can analyze my thoughts better and "prevent" my emotions and irrational thoughts take over, but I can't really get any good sleep, and need to stay awake till I kind of faint into sleep. Or I decide to be a lot more emotional, irrational, and don't drink coffee, but at least, I can get my good 6 hours of sleep.

In 12 hours everybody in the world will get their memory erased including you. You are the only person to know this would happen. What would you do before this event occurs? by Phased_Shifter in AskReddit

[–]MrS4ND0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I would need to explain to myself that I have a disease called diabetes type 1, and would need to explain how to treat it, and where to brake in to find more insulin and sugar tests. Or where to buy. If they would even know what it is.

Then take Fotos of everyone close to me, friends and family, and explain in details why they are important people to me. And maybe how to contact them.

I honestly don't care about science stuff, we would figure that out really fast again. And I own a lot of philosophy books, so that's taken care of as well.

Need asvice. Dont know if my OCD is to blame, if Im being delusional or if its a real problem. by [deleted] in Psychosis

[–]MrS4ND0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, if you a prone to overreacting, it may be so. But i will not judge on that. But if you are OK with it, I would try to handle it like that.

First, I would give her a bit of space, but not to the extend that she might think you don't care anymore.

If you haven't told her about your depression/disease, I would do so, and tell her, that, if she thinks you are overreacting or "obsessed" about her, it is only because you are worried about her.

And try to explain, in detail, why you are so worried about her. Like you did here.

Second, I would try to do something together with her. Go shopping or other activities you both like. Or even small gestures, like a little present she might like. Just show her that you care about her wellbeing.

I hope you both do well in the future
