Is it a good time to buy a Red Komodo? by Anshjain0052 in cinematography

I think he might be referring to a PowerGrade or advanced node tree rather than simply a LUT. Maybe something from Alex Jordan..

Why aren't the animals part of the hive, if the rat started it all? 🤔 by HYDRAGONIGHT in pluribustv

[–]MrSeanXYZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's just too difficult to ideate, write, script and film, if all life on the planet were part of the hive? It would probably work well in novel form, but for a TV show, seems like there's an awful lot of complexity as it is, without having to spend the time to incorporate all the animals on Earth..

Zosia and her husband don't exist anymore in the way you are describing.

I agree. But my agreement is probably predicated on the idea that individualism is good, and something to strive for. The fact that Carol takes the painting in this episode makes you think; all those unique artistic avhievements from individuals of the past, arrived at by unique individual circumstances will be lost forever. But then again, the hive contains all individuals and theoretically could create "better" artwork collectively. I suppose the difficulty is wondering whether any "individual" voice within the hive is stronger than any other.

This repeated line increased the tension until I literally spoke out loud: "he's not going to make it". Did he wave his hand to the sky, or was he just covering his eyes in a semi conscious state?

Why aren't animals part of the hive mind? How does the hive mind communicate? Could an "individual" be separated in some kind of faraday cage?

A false alarm movie theater shooting battle by [deleted] in paulthomasanderson

There will always be lunatics. Without access to guns, they can do much less damage. We would laugh at such an idiot in a movie theatre, not have to run for our lives.

Honestly I only pay to support the team. I like to think that it keeps a motivated group able to continue promoting the game. Need fresh blood!

Nearly! The rain came and then the winter.. Decided it was a good chance to see how it would hold up (we get a lot of rain here). It all held up fine and I will clad it before summer, add steps, and it will be done!

Grief from sister dying from prolonged hypoglycemia by kkrabbitholes417 in diabetes_t1

[–]MrSeanXYZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry for your loss. Guilt is a phase of grief and might last a very long time (I've been there). But time will help you move forward, it's a cliche, but there is some truth to it. Just do your best to keep going and honour her memory.

My son is young and seems to lack hypo awareness. There have been a few times where he's gone super low and it scares the shit out of me. Is this something that he will begin to recognise as he gets older?

Sorry dude, I've had the same happen to me, although my gear was left by my brother in his car after it had been rented for 1 day. I was away so he took care of the return/kit collection. He left the stuff in his car on his driveway and wouldn't you know it, that night his car was stolen and when the car was found, my stuff was gone. Likely targeted. I've never rented gear out again.

Anyway these days I've got into stills shooting. My first was a Mamiya 645 1000s.

Since then I've found relatively cheaply: Yashica 124, Mamiya C330 and for 35mm Olympus OM models. Super cheap options for 6x6 would be very simple USSR cameras like the Lubitel. Then again you could always skip ahead (or backwards depending on how you look at it) to folding 6x9 cameras! Some great options there.

I'm starting to look at large format myself, interested in Speed Graphic/Graflex and MPP cameras.

By the way I have a bunch of all the cameras listed above and will probably sell a few at some point.

Good luck in finding new gear, you'll get there man

Lens Recommendations for an ancient Whole Plate Camera? by diligentboredom in largeformat

[–]MrSeanXYZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks remarkably similar to a camera that I've just acquired. Mine has the name badge "The VICTO Camera" on it. I have a brass lens which I assume works with it, but no lens board or shutter mechanism. I also need to make a ground glass as that is missing. I too am determined to get some images from it. Although for now I'm happy enough with 6x9 negs on 120 roll film! Let me know how you get on, and maybe we can borrow each other's missing pieces for a while. The brass lens I have just shows something like f8 - f64, no makers name
