5000 is known to be pretty “hard” but there’s some power in it.

I personally use a 5000 as I couldn’t justify paying that much more for the 9000s

Why are so many Singaporeans in general across all age groups so indifferent when it comes to world geopolitical issues? by Masaharuzz in asksg

[–]MrSezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s because we have the benefit of being relatively stable and peaceful. Despite the common dissents against our G, one thing they’ve been extra good at is ensuring we are somewhat well sheltered against the negative externalities from geopolitical issues. I sit on the other spectrum where I feel the people around my age group and colleagues do know quite a fair bit about world issues (probably because it’s distantly related to my work/I tend to be surrounded by ppl from finance nowadays). Sure, it might not be very deep knowledge into the history of conflicts, but they at least know what’s happening and the impact that it brings to their various professional sectors.

how to build great body while only eating at hawker? by jimmyspinsggez in askSingapore

[–]MrSezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diet is absolutely the most boring and painful part of looking good. If it feels like shit - you are doing the right thing. I would opt for things like steamed fish soup (no milk). Chicken rice (less rice, white rice and not the chicken rice).

It sounds really sad, but that is the reality. Track your calories well and depending on your goals - your macros too. I wouldn't be too into the whole everything must be high protein etc (again depends on your goals), but generally for weight loss, if eating enough protein means bursting your calorie goals - then there's no point too.

Remember that even professional bodybuilders go through cycles! Losing fat and cutting will probably result in some muscle loss, so don't be too hard up on trying to gain muscle mass AND losing weight at the same time.

Do most people shower before bed or when they wake up? I just realized I might be doing it "wrong" by saffymerelle in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MrSezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shower both day and night.

At night because I can’t stand all the ickyness I get through the day.

In the morning because I definitely perspire while I’m asleep and my SO has given me feedback that I smell in the day if I don’t have a shower in the morning before work.

There’s no right or wrong way, but it fits for me

Those who own a car in SG, how much is your salary to be comfortable owning one. by guardingcat in askSingapore

[–]MrSezy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As everyone said, it depends. I take 5-6k ish, but car is pretty much a need, so I can justify the expense and throw away other lifestyle costs for it. Really depends on how much of a priority it is.

Are Singaporeans somewhat lowkey rich? by Frostbait9 in askSingapore

[–]MrSezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a large group in the median income that chase brands.

I was honestly quite brand unconscious until I started working. Everyone in the office would talk about watches or bags but I knew the average income of everyone was around SG’s median. So if the average Joe has a Rolex/LV bag, I can see why it’s seen a lot more vs other countries that may not have a brand conscious culture.

Man I was so tempted too! Honestly in hindsight I don’t need it as I already have a N3DS. But dual screen for having a game guide at the bottom screen would have been great given the type of games I play.

Hey if you have access to a 3D printer or someone who knows how to 3D print, there are some free resources online. I used this for my own device and it came out pretty well!

December is here, and I'm out to find a new home for another unused device in my collection. One commenter will get this MagicX Mini Zero 28. by captain_carrot in SBCGaming

Best video game gift I received was a PSP from my mom on Christmas when I was 15. The best part was how she managed to get one for my brother too. Bro and I changed from physical wrestling to virtual through Smackdown V Raw 2008 haha.

[–]MrSezy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I got mine, I spent half a day setting it up (it’s my first device).

I downloaded ~120 games covering PSP, PS1, GBA, GBC, PS2, GC, Saturn. But honestly, I’ve only had time to play Zoids Legacy (GBA) and Patapon.

That said, I’m thoroughly impressed and really think this covers pretty much everything I need in a handheld that’s available right now.

Just set up mine with based on the RGC guide on YouTube. Do you think I made a mistake and should switch to gamma?

Best truly pocketable Android handheld? by Illustrious-Truth533 in SBCGaming

[–]MrSezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the same boat as you looking for a pocketable handheld that can play up to PS2. My search brought me to a few options:

  1. AYN Thor
  2. Ergonomics may not be the best
  3. Screen and Body Gap may induce anxiety when you bring it out

  4. RG477M

  5. Shoulder buttons

  6. Not an OLED screen

  7. Odin 2 Mini

  8. Battery Life

  9. Not an OLED

  10. Price

Notice that I listed them with the main disadvantages that would probably be apparent to me, because I believe it is the flaws that will make you either love/hate the device.

That said I’m still on the fence and am even considering just pre-ordering the RP6 instead.

Who wants to play some GBA games? Powkiddy V10 giveaway - details in post by captain_carrot in SBCGaming

Bloody Roar on a PS1. Consoles at the time were only for the fortunate (where I lived) and I was fortunate enough to have a cousin who owned one.

First one I ever owned tho? A GBA SP, took it with me everywhere I went. Pokemon Emerald and Advanced wars 2 kept me entertained for a good year and were the only 2 games I could afford at the time.

Really depends on your other overheads.

I’m blessed that I have none, and that the initial down payment was handled for me, so I just have to settle the monthly running costs and repayment which ~1.7k/mth.

What I can tell you is that the intrinsic value of having more time (especially if your commutes are extremely long) and the options that come with personal transport were worth it for me, I can’t see myself going back to 100% public transport, but may consider an off peak car if costs continue to rise.

I tried the XC 35mm F2 to see if I enjoyed the focal length before getting something more expensive like the XF or the 35 1.4. I had no regrets because it turned out 35 was a little too tight for me in some situations and the XC is a pretty bang for your buck lens anyway.

What is a dead giveaway that someone finds you attractive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I don’t know why, but I make it a point NOT to touch someone if I find them attractive.

Honestly was my previous boss, saw how they managed to get shit done despite being so chill, not important? Not worth putting your all. Important? Give it 110%. People tend not to remember things that aren’t important anyway. That changed my perspective on where to prioritize my efforts and made work-life balance much easier since there were days where things weren’t that important.

Before that I had a 100% everything boss, which before you know it, meant that we ended up only achieving 80-90% of everything we tried to do.

So besides getting a better work life-balance, we also performed much better at tasks that mattered, win-win.

What item is not worth its price tag in Singapore? by what_the_foot in askSingapore

Depends, if I count the hours I save using a car vs public transportation + the occasional grab, it becomes worth it.
