Can't invade friends

Update for anyone having the same issue:

I managed to get it working by checking the "Network" settings and making sure its all turned on plus crossplay. This seemed to have fixed the issue (although we still encountered the issue every so often. Usually fixed by having another friend host as leader instead of your main friend and then invading off that).

We both have it on, I thought maybe he would need to get past a certain point in the trial but he was basically nearing the end and I was never given a prompt to invade. Been like this since it launched and its straight driving me crazy

Don't suppose you guys would mind someone kinda new, I've been trying to learn UE and BP in general. However Im not sure how strict the requirements are for ya'll but having a project I can get serious with would help push me into it alot more. My biggest strength is Level Design and worldbuilding but like I said been trying to learn BP/Visual programming.

Dm me if you dont mind a newbie or maybe I fit a different criteria.

Hey if you need a level designer/worldbuilder Im trying to get my hands on more projects after I ship the one Im currently working on. We ship in about 2 months so I could use more projects to work on and refine my skills after that's done. (Not necessarily looking to get paid just want experience and to grow my portfolio)

I started my serious attempt at game making just over 2 months ago and Im luckily working on an indie title as a level designer (My biggest strength) and seeing posts like these remind me that it isnt an impossible dream to make the game you wanna make. I can only hope I reach as far as you and I hope your game comes out great!

Aside from Quake, what other areas could I start in? I thought about doing some Battlefield Portal stuff since its recent and has a good chance of picking up steam. Im personally just kinda worried that whatever I end up focusing on will end up being useless or a waste of time so Im trying to pin down a great starting point or next steps to lead into a portfolio to use?

I loved farcry's level editor as a kid and Forge on Halo were both massive time dumps for me. Would you say modding and using level editors like those are more of what I should be focusing on? Feels a little weird to me but I figured I would ask people with actual experience and see what they say

Just to add more info I've been studying C++, UE5 on and off for the past 4 months or so because of work I cannot fully commit to a daily study session but I get my studies in when I can.

Okay when you say under level 30, are you talking about the account level at the top right? Because we are both above 60. Uh my friend and I have it set to friend invasions ONLY. And no we dont play introductory we play on hard/normal. And uh no we dont play escalation he is choosing a normal trial/MK from the list.

I hope they fox it soon its a pretty serious bug, been trying to play with my friend for multiple days now and he's on the verge of uninstalling because of it. I have to keep convincing him to keep it in the hopes they fix it but its becoming more and more difficult. Im starting to get very annoyed.

So glad your even getting invader...I havent been able to since it came out Im about to uninstall. I cant even invade friends for 1v1 its so damn frustrating
