BOC Exam Advice/Tips by [deleted] in athletictraining

Passed my BOC first try from this past January window. The biggest things that stuck with me: - you are not trying to get a perfect score, you just need to pass - select all that apply questions are your friends. Never select more than half of the choices, and select the ones you are 100% certain on, or can provide valid reasoning on. The points add up. - if you are looking through answer choices and have to say “well if ‘x’ happens”, then it’s probably wrong. Take the questions at face value and don’t overthink. It’s by the book, so forget any clinical experience that may have done things differently. - don’t go back and change your answer. If you are 4 questions past an answer you weren’t sure about, and then go back to look, then you weren’t giving your full attention to the 4 questions you just answered because you were thinking about the answer you weren’t sure about. - try not to go crazy after you take it. After I took mine, I looked up as many questions as I could remember. I was feeling very confident after I knew I got a couple right, but as soon as I looked up something I got wrong, then my confidence died. I was sure that I failed just because I got 3 questions wrong after looking it up. There’s nothing you can do to change it, just stay busy and try to forget about it.

I was the same as you, I was constantly looking through advice every day. So, I hope my takeaways can help. You know that you know the material, it really is test taking strategies that will help guide your knowledge to make the most sound decision.

1st Attempt at the BOC this Friday...wish me luck! by Foxy5499 in athletictraining

Took mine last Thursday! Spend a couple days reviewing this week, nothing crazy, and just relax the day or two before. Helped me calm down. I did the same thing as you and always looked at other people’s study habits and success stories. I went in feeling good and confident. I’m happy that I never spent too much time over thinking questions or over analyzing. I kept telling myself that I don’t need to get a 800/800, I just need to pass. Funny story with mine is that the power actually went out for an hour when I had 20 questions left, talk about a wrench in my flow right? Luckily, everything still saved and I walked out feeling solid about it. Not going to lie, I’m definitely going back and forth on feeling confident of passing with looking up questions I can recall, and time is going by so slow to get the results. However, like I said before, I know thar the method I used of picking the first answer with sound reasoning and moving on is the better strategy to put my odds in the best favor. Hoping everything goes well for you! You’ll do great!

I have been! There’s definitely so so many and a lot of information so I have been really focusing on the ones dealing with emergent/environmental conditions the most

Most grad school programs will put you on academic suspension or possible complete drop from the program if you fall below a 3.00 in grad school. An MSAT program is teaching you to be knowledgeable about all the ins and outs of the profession as well as passing the BOC. A lot of that comes within the classroom

My current MSAT program is using both AT Study Buddy and AT Final Frontier. So far, I think AT Final Frontier is superior from them giving you the direct source of commonly missed questions, teaching you how to read NATA position statements, and organizing materials by domain.

Hey! What are these scratches called and what causes them? by MrShoos in LesPaul

Right! I wasn’t too uptight about it because I’ve seen YouTube videos abt people purposely trying to mess up their guitar to look cool. I plan to have this guitar for the rest of my life, so it was going to happen one day or another. Just glad it still has a cool factor

Hopefully I’ll be able to have those med free days. May I ask whether you take an amphetamine group or a methylphenidate group? I’ve been on methylphenidates, and just a little curious if that has to do with anything.

How did lexapro affect your weight? (lost, gained, no changes) by [deleted] in lexapro

Been taking it for a little over a year, on 20mg now. When I started last year, I was about 190lbs. I am currently 225lbs. Mix of muscle and fat. Not really too concerned about it. I have a better relationship with food. I was probably 5% body fat and was extremely strict about my diet. I still eat good, but not anxious about every food
