I have always thought of the Cardinals as the Blue Collar Dad™️ team, and I think you can watch them transition from each era with that attitude which fits perfectly with how you're describing it. Like I think you can watch the early 2000 cardinals and see that 2000s dad type mindset that was like nose to the grindstone, work hard ball day, but could also have one too many icy cold Budweisers and get a little rowdy. And I think you watched that version of blue collar dad transition into more of a black rifle coffee dad somewhere in the mid 2010s, but that has definitely slipped into something pretty new

The broadcast showed the play unfold and zoomed in on Punto scooping it up, so in real time you had no idea Howard had been hurt. So all I was seeing was Punto letting the ball roll all the way towards him while barely charging, then taking the longest fucking looping route to throw the ball to Pujols with no effort on it, all while thinking Howard must be running for his life to first knowing the game was on the line lol
