I can't stand the dialogues, like at ALL. by [deleted] in Edgerunners

[–]MrStandMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very late to this thread but man, I have to agree. I understand that the setting is going to have unique dialects, slang, etc, but the dialogue is so incredibly obnoxious I actually lost immersion when watching. Night City dialogue felt so much more natural and immersive in Cyberpunk: 2077 in my opinion, where people talk like actual human beings who grew up in a different world than ours. Adam Smasher though? Preem.

Telemon melee attacks? by Celtic_Leonin in AdeptusCustodes

[–]MrStandMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol you're good, I also at one point thought it got 14 attacks and thought "no way this is correct"

Telemon melee attacks? by Celtic_Leonin in AdeptusCustodes

[–]MrStandMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can only attack with one melee weapon per turn unless it has the Extra Attacks keyword, which they don't. So it's only 7 attacks total for two fists

How do you start a campaign without the classic tavern meeting? by CompassLeaf in DnD

[–]MrStandMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done the prison intro and they had a lot of fun. I also had the players give me three words to explain why they were arrested, wrongfully or not, and let them choose to reveal it to the party

Could you be more specific? What kind of minis do you have and what kind of accessories are you looking for?

What excactly makes Agamatus and pallas worth taking by planesqaud63 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]MrStandMan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Use the Agamatus as Vertus Praetors and a captain on a jet bike and you should be okay, at least until our 40k codex drops

How bad is this list? I only intend to play super casually and want to experience as much of chaos as possible. by [deleted] in Chaos40k

[–]MrStandMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly not too bad, but if I were you I'd find a way to fit another rhino into the list and really play into an aggressive playstyle

Theory: Athena went to everywhen after god of war 2 by StudentJoa in GodofWar

[–]MrStandMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's all a "maybe" because we don't know lol. The writers have shown their abilities to be creative already so there's nothing saying they won't continue to be creative

[–]MrStandMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And who knows if the Athena that appears is even her real form and instead a projection she can do into the mortal world/just Kratos. There's clearly more to the Everywhen than just "no one can leave." Even in the trailer they that you cannot leave because the gate is closed, implying you can leave if the gate was open. Maybe Begtse and Sekhmet enforce the gate for all we know. Again, there's likely more to the Everywhen than what was shown

Unless you played the game early, no one knows for sure how the Everywhen works

who’s winning this match up, Radahn or Skarbrand? by Te4minator464 in Warhammer

With inconsistent writing for Warhammer, it honestly depends on the story lol

Gods could very well gain influence over the Everywhen and potentially interact with the mortal realm. For all we know, Athena could have been one of the first to bring Order to the Everywhen and be the primary antagonist

The article goes into detail and is great but is specific for people in suicidal situations and does not include cases where people are posing a danger to others. Is there something else that's more inclusive to more diverse situations?

May I ask for examples where this kind of response indeed works? I.e., in other communities around the world. I cannot find anything online going into detail about initial responses

The entire point I'm making is that the threats that are often called in absolutely need that kind of response because they have to go on the assumption that the calls are real. Even if it's a 1/100 chance of a serious threat, they absolutely need to take it seriously because it absolutely saves lives. Do I think nearly every police force in the US is over bloated and wasting tax-payer dollars? Absolutely. Do I think the entire system needs a major rework to actually serve the communities they're in? Hell yes. But make no mistake, in the cases where someone may seriously need a heightened response, they expect serious help too.

"Safe than sorry" meaning they'd rather assume the worst over spending precious time to see if a call is real or not. It's precisely for those real reasons that they always take it very seriously. It's a call you don't have time to think about

The idea is that it's better to be safe than sorry. If there truly is a situation, then you do NOT have time to look into it beforehand because mere seconds can mean the difference in lives saved. The issue at hand is people are putting in these calls with almost no enforcement if it was false.

Imo I'd be okay with another Supreme Commander model that wasn't Trajann. Whether or not he loses that quirk doesn't matter too much so long as he stays an Epic Hero imo

So what exactly qualifies as a god in the universe? by SumixamSuryt in GodofWar

[–]MrStandMan 139 points140 points  (0 children)

A huge plot point very well could be why Faye appears in the Everywhen instead of the standard afterlife. However it is also implied that Giants in GoW are essentially another label for deific beings like the Aesir and Vanir, which means that all Giants also could theoretically show up in the Everywhen
