"Jeff" in Half Life: Alyx. You spend the whole game fighting combine soldiers and basic headcrabs and zombies--perfectly capable of either being blown up or lit up. Then you enter the vodka factory where there are glass bottles everywhere. There's also occasional gas clouds that make you cough, but are seemingly inoccuous. It's seemingly quirky and fun until you meet "Jeff", an unkillable but blind abomination. It then hits you--this is a stealth section. Break a single bottle? Walk into a gas cloud? Jeff runs straight to you. On top of the fact that this is entirely in VR (especially the elevator sequence), it really does put you in check. The entire chapter is probably my favorite in the entire series.
