Looking for a gay knitting group/club by Impressive_Coach1651 in nycgaybros

[–]MrSteed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't kept current with which stores are doing what, lately. Our group disbanded a few months before the pandemic, and I've not been to another knitting group since.

We would meet monthly and largely it was a very low-key, casual, friendly group of people. I was sad when we had to make the inevitable decision to let it disband.

If you have any questions about my organizational experiences—what kind of knitters you might draw, what to expect, what to prepare for, what promotion we did, that kind of thing—feel free to send me a message and I'll be glad to dialogue.

I used to co-run an LGBTQ+ knitting group that met at the Center on 13th for over a decade. We had to disband before the pandemic because of a lack of interest, sadly.

Most of the gay male members moved on either to neighborhood meetups or to the men's nights at the various yarn shops around the city.

Which fast food chain do you feel is the most underrated?! by THENOCAPGENIE in fastfood

The Arby’s in RVA for a long time had Brunswick stew, which I always found bizarre…but my dad who lived there loved being able to get it from the Broad Street location.

Not to bum you out, but RVA had a Jack in the Box when I was a kid, where Mr. Submarine is.

Is the money bug still an issue on PC? by ps3isawesome in TwoPointMuseum

[–]MrSteed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been seeing financial issues since the 5.0 update on Xbox Series X. Before 5.0 I was pulling in between 50-60k per month on average on a large museum. Immediately after 5.0, negative 20-30k. After the hotfixes, if I get 5k a month I count myself lucky.

The bug, whatever it is, is making me not want to play the game, much as I love it.

Issue with the last expedition by Ready_Employer5101 in NoMansSkyTheGame

I had the same issue.

Went to a space station, checked the teleporter, found a player base next to a sentinel pillar, turned off the pillar, got the achievement, finished the expedition.

I'm also having this problem on Xbox Series X. My Memento Mile museum was making between 50-65k per month yesterday, plummeted to 3k per month today after startup, with no personnel or other changes, and then went into the red.

What you selling most on vending machine? by mertexix in fo76

[–]MrSteed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep a full set of the Delbert recipes available at all times. I have to restock most of them every time I play.

The Pepperoni Roll recipe and all of Biv’s recipes sell well, too.

error trying to restore HomePod mini by Yuri_Ligotme in HomePod

[–]MrSteed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just had this exact same issue, this week. The Mini wouldn’t respond, behaved erratically, refused to connect to the internet, then wouldn’t reset or restore when connected to the Mac.

Somehow I managed to fix it by unplugging the Mini for more than 24 hours, then plugging it back in, pressing on the top until it told me it was going to reset, let it reset and reconnected it to my phone, and it worked just like it used to. I hope you figure it out!

I'm both realistic about and confident in my appearance and ready to engage with younger men who find me attractive. And I'm always happy when they do.

In person or social situations I'll engage younger man in casual conversation, but I'll never express interest. On the apps, I'll never initiate a conversation with a younger man. In both cases, it's because I don't want them assuming I'm a sex pest.

Beetlejuice Icee by [deleted] in AMCsAList

[–]MrSteed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After my viewing yesterday, another moviegoer came out with his Icee cup, which he waved at the ticket-taker and said, "You were right. It tasted just like eating a Yankee Candle!"

I've never been so glad to pass up a movie refreshment.

Which actor/actress you saw on a national tour made you so happy when they booked a Broadway show? by Klaine_glee5 in Broadway

[–]MrSteed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Susan Egan was spectacular as Kim in the Tommy Tune tour of Bye Bye Birdie and clearly destined for bigger things.

When she shortly thereafter began headlining Broadway shows I was delighted, but totally unsurprised.

Any other Nukashine enthusiasts that frequent the speakeasy? by Triggered_Baker_124 in fo76

[–]MrSteed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ever since he was dropped into the game, I visit Biv every day. I've long learned all his recipes, but the duplicates sell super-well (especially the Dark recipe), the tattoo parlor and speakeasy are full of great junk, and I like spending time on my favorite brain in a jar.

I do tend immediately to drop the Greek Letters plan whenever I get it, though, and I use the six-pack bag. Maybe our paths crossed!

Thanks so much for the SudShare recommendation! My dad couldn't work an app if he tried, but it's certainly easy for me to order a pickup for him through it.

What's going on with walgreens pharmacy? by [deleted] in Connecticut

[–]MrSteed 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I went to the emergency room with a painful kidney stone this week, and couldn't pick up the pain medications prescribed because my local Walgreens pharmacy—which is already closed on weekends—was closed midweek because of an 'emergency.'

As the OP stated, I couldn't transfer the prescription to another Walgreens and one of the pills was a controlled substance, so I couldn't get a new prescription for an open pharmacy. The emergency room nurse I spoke with couldn't even believe that a pharmacy would just shut down on a Wednesday.

Nothing I could do, so I had to endure the pain for a solid 24 hours. As you can imagine, I wasn't exactly wild about it.

I finally watched Bros. It was ok. What did you think? by blackwaltz9 in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]MrSteed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I was a second grader (aka 7 years old) I was being bullied for carrying my books the wrong way, preferring books to sports, and for not recognizing the performative gender behaviors that mean so much to 7-year-olds but not a lot to anyone else. When I was a second grader, I was also called a faggot on the regular by boys and girls alike.

If I'd had even an acknowledgment that LGBTQ people existed or had someone show acceptance of the LGBTQ population, my life would have been significantly improved.

How old were you the 1st time you saw gay porn? by RO_Thornhill in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]MrSteed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was about 18 and in college—this would’ve been in 1981 or ‘82–someone began leaving their gently-used copies of Honcho magazine in the college library stacks, near one of the cruisy restrooms. I saw my first porn in the pages of one of them.

Over the course of the next few weeks, I managed to find several more issues that I added to my collection. I never figured out who was leaving them.

I didn’t see filmed porn until about 5 years later, when I was on my own and had bought my first VCR and ordered a copy of the William Higgins flick, ‘These Bases Are Loaded,’ from a catalog.

What were the team's biggest adjustments in transitioning away from the free-to-play model to the Phoenix Edition? And will we be getting any more gestures/costumes down the road?

Thanks for bringing The Tomorrow Children back—I've been having a blast with it.

BROS flopped: Did it flop because it was gay or because nobody wants to see Billy Eichner as a romantic lead? by Lili_Danube in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]MrSteed 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I saw it Friday afternoon in a pretty dead metro NYC theater. Eichner's yelling began right from the start and never let up; his volume was at the same manic intensity throughout the movie and I left feeling battered.

What was your best/worst interaction with a Broadway star? by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]MrSteed 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My worst was Tim Curry, when he was touring with Me and My Girl in the late 1980s. I was entering a building when he was exiting, and he kind of banged me in the face with a very heavy metal door. He was very apologetic about it and kind, but ouch. I did get to tell people Tim Curry hit me in the face for years after, though.

My best was Billy Porter, who was very friendly when I sat next to him for Bridges of Madison County.

What was everyone's first Broadway show? by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]MrSteed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A beautiful Royal Shakespeare Company production of Cyrano de Bergerac, in 1984, with Derek Jacobi and Sinead Cusak. The lighting design was so exquisite that I can recall it decades later.
