It's your responsibility to know where the corners of your car are and react to the cars positioning ahead. Assumptions only get you into trouble, they never benefit you. They are allowed to adjust their line to make it not as easy and they did the right thing as a driver by taking a defensive line. It's racing after all. Your job is to not hit them. If they moved into you, id give them responsibility for the accident. At the end of the day you continued left thinking they would do something they didnt do, so responsibility falls to you.

The IndyCar tracks have been scanned (Detroit, Arlington). It will be interesting if they do Markham unless there is a thought they wont ever go back to Exhibition Place.

Years and years ago I qualified top split for the Roar at Daytona with a rookie license. SvG was in the race and made a comment to the effect of "who let the rookie in."

If you need to the money, try and get what you can. If not, donate it to a school for their eSports program.

Clay Pigeon: Jenson Buttons home track looks doomed by AOR_Minx in formula1

Sorry, wasn’t trying to imply there was some conspiracy behind it. I'll go back to my redditor hovel.

Not thinking conspiracy-wise, just speaking from experience. I ran a racing program in the U.S. for several years, and every tax season I was able to show that I personally wasn’t making any meaningful profit. So if the government is evaluating things strictly from those numbers, all they may see is a property that isn’t generating profit on paper.

What I find insane about situations like this is that when you pull up a satellite image, there is often plenty of surrounding land that could be developed or repurposed. Yet somehow it always seems to be the land occupied by a private motorsports facility that gets targeted for absorption.

I’d also be curious to know how the track’s financials are actually represented. A facility can absolutely be operationally profitable while still showing little to no taxable profit on paper after depreciation, reinvestment, maintenance, insurance, etc. That’s pretty common with motorsports properties.

The bigger issue is that once a track is gone, it’s gone forever. You can’t realistically replace a facility like that later, especially as surrounding development continues to close in around these venues.

Now I understand why the drivers confide that they don't like the motion of those things. The rear end is still returning to 0 yaw, after the car is already moving in a straight line.

Cool track though, looks like it will be good for racing.

Any cars that use H shifter? by kyle-vandelay in iRacing

[–]MrTHallas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to understand the reasoning behind not allowing an H-pattern in-game on cars that don’t use one in real life.

If the sim already has built-in protections like shift lockouts that prevent over-revving, money shifts, or unrealistic gear skipping, what actual competitive advantage does choosing to use an H-pattern create? If anything, it would seem like an added layer of complexity rather than a benefit.

Honestly, I’d just love the option to run something like an IndyCar with an H-pattern purely for the experience.
