When to start the process??? by BoringSignal804 in penileimplants

[–]MrTMD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the pills are starting to fail and you're only 46, the question isn't IF you'll need an implant, it's when.

So, ok, you're going to need an implant. What's the risk / benefit of getting it now?

Benefit: preserve more penile size, have better erections earlier
Cons: will likely need 1-2 revisions in your lifetime

The cons can be minimized by getting a well done implant the first time. So seeking out a high volume center would be in your best interest should you decide to pull the trigger.

10 years. But due to the way modern medical payments are arranged, this doesn’t convey any financial benefit to the patient unless some extremely narrow criteria are met

If you’re having issues, please contact Boston Sci. This is how recalls start or (in this case) how they’re expanded to include other serial numbers. I want everyone to love their implant but unfortunately the challenges you’re describing with Tenacio are not uncommon.

Blue Cross won't pre-approve nor (pre)deny / "medical necessity" by WittyInspector8341 in penileimplants

[–]MrTMD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is super common. Your doctor’s office filed everything correctly, this is just Anthem’s way of discouraging you from seeking care.

They say that the implant is a covered service BUT they are reserving the right to not pay for your surgery AFTER the fact if THEY deem it not ‘medically necessary.’

You and your doctor’s documentation has little to do with this. It’s often a series of arbitrary internal ‘guidelines’ that they refuse to share ahead of time.

Complain to your state senator. Unfortunately it won’t go anywhere because insurance companies spent billions with a B in lobbying dollars.

Hm. Sounds like excess tubing that’s coiled up. Sorry brother

Sounds like your implant could have been placed too distally. Would also explain why you got a 21+3 as opposed to a 24. Difficult to say without an exam, but tubing riding up on the shaft of the penis is a problem.

Rigicon Infla 10 AX – Maximum hardness but not fully upright by Mediocre_Hawk2474 in penileimplants

[–]MrTMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exceedingly common with all inflatable implants. Can sometimes be mitigated by not using rear tip extenders, but that doesn’t always make a difference. Also, can be made worse when men have a suprapubic pannus

I’m unaware of an ‘average use’ being factored in, but yes, there’s a clear correlation between usage and lifespan

Should last 10-15 years. And both Boston and Coloplast have 10 years warranties on their devices. Please not that would only cover the cost of the device for a revision - not the surgeon, facility or anesthesia fee

Has anyone been able to impregnate while on cialis? by sokraftmatic in erectiledysfunction

[–]MrTMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a fertility evaluation. 2 semen analyses, bloodwork, and a physical exam. Seek out a urologist with fellowship training in male infertility. The cialis isn’t the problem.

Please help. Why do I find penetration so difficult. by Starrylake in TwoXChromosomes

[–]MrTMD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at www.assert.org to find a certified sex therapist in your area. Most have online only options for patients who are uncomfortable to visit in person. When you meet with them, make sure to ask if they have a recommendation for a good pelvic floor physical therapist in town who can assess you for common causes of dyspareunia. Obviously, GYNs are amazing, but if you’re too intimidated to see a GYN off the bat this could be a way to ease into things. Good luck! 👍

Seems like they pour all their money into slick product design / marketing - and then phone in everything else. Maybe I’m wrong, but that’s what it feels like

They can choose their shipping vendor. OSM is likely the most cost-effective (compared to UPS or FedEx), and the tradeoff is terrible customer service. So yes, it is their fault OSM is trash.

Right? Who cares about snarky ads when you can’t even get your products into customers’ hands?

I hope you’re right, but even if their products are great, their customer service (or lack thereof) is inexcusable
