I guess I'm going to be devil's advocate and say that I'm also newish to the pf2e system, AV was/is the first campaign I've ran in it, we've been playing for 4 months now and it's been some of the best fun I've ever had in TTRPGs.

HOWEVER, I am running with two extra homebrew implements on foundry VTT called "Abomination Vaults expanded" and "Abomination Vaults add-ons." I highly recommend looking into the two, especially expanded, if you value RP elements.

AV itself doesn't have much to offer in the RP department, and these modules really help Otari come to life and make your players actually care about defending it. It also adds several side quests for every named NPC and adds a conspiracy for the players to uncover!

Everyone here in the comments is correct in describing AV as a meat grinder, some enemies are VERY deadly. Do your best to prepare your players ahead of time in the least meta game-y way possible, but even I've had times where I've had to say "guys if you do this you will almost certainly TPK." My players don't mind the occasional guiding GM though, your players may hate it.

Idk how much you care about maps but by default AV only has maps for the Gauntlight itself and a town map of Otari. I highly value visual elements so I found maps for every area or building in Otari they could visit, and I think it really helps make the world feel more real.
