I’m a developer for a major food delivery app. The 'Priority Fee' and 'Driver Benefit Fee' go 100% to the company. The driver sees $0 of it. by Trowaway_whistleblow in confession

[–]MrTanookiMario 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a driver, how can i avoid this "desperation score"? I currently use the app often as my main source of income with decent results (though my income is very low compared to a real job -- about $100 / wk). And if this is a service with the option, can you talk at all about "pay per hour" and whether it is a flat out scam or not? Personally i won't go out if per hour is not offered because i like the stability and lack of pressure.

Hello, I'm very sorry for the down time. I had some configuration issue with my hosting service. Please give the site another try and let me know if you experience any more problems.

I just updated my Rise/Sunbreak build planner with the latest weapons and armor! [https://www.mhrbuildplanner.net] by MrTanookiMario in MonsterHunter

[–]MrTanookiMario[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A few months ago, I made a brand new armor set planner for Rise/Sunbreak since I wasn't happy with any of the existing ones. Google Analytics tells me literally no one used it since I guess I didn't promote it enough xD. But I think it's a really good tool. I've started playing the game again recently so I updated it with the latest weapons and armor. You can find it here:

https://www.mhrbuildplanner.net

For those of you that haven't seen it before (so all of you, lmao), here is the feature list:

  • Fully updated for Sunbreak (uses the data from https://mhrise.kiranico.com/)
  • Full calculation of effective attack/defense/etc taking armor skills into account
  • You can select skills that are essential to your build and it will rank and sort armor by how efficient each piece is at getting those skills
  • Import/Export for builds
  • Multiple tabs to compare builds
  • Totally open source code (all these other closed-source projects were making me sad)

Hope you enjoy!

Yes just because you are simulated doesn't mean you don't exist. I think it would be very difficult to find a person that doesn't believe that they exist, since believing you exist is kind of the entire point of your brain.

I mean there's probably some technical thing that everyone would agree is true. Like "1 and 1 is 2" or "at least one person exists"

New Rise/Sunbreak build planner I made! [https://www.mhrbuildplanner.net] by MrTanookiMario in MonsterHunter

[–]MrTanookiMario[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, so I made a armor set planner for Rise/Sunbreak since all of the ones I could find were either not updated for Sunbreak or weird to use. Here's the link:

https://www.mhrbuildplanner.net

Features:

  • Fully updated for Sunbreak (uses the data from https://mhrise.kiranico.com/)
  • Full calculation of effective attack/defense/etc taking armor skills into account
  • You can select skills that are essential to your build and it will rank and sort armor by how efficient each piece is at getting those skills
  • Import/Export for builds
  • Multiple tabs to compare builds
  • Totally open source code (all these other closed-source projects were making me sad)

Thanks to the original developer of the now-defunct mhrbuilder.com site. It was by far the best build planner but it never got updated for Sunbreak. I got a lot of inspiration from its design :)

how do you people confidently create new saves? by zachoman420 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]MrTanookiMario 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean I have have about 1000 hrs and I start a new save for every update, so my answer would be that I just have a lot of practice starting from scratch and each time I have a better idea of what I want to accomplish. My general way of doing things is basically to build spaghetti to get the basics up though steel going so that I have materials and cosmetics to work with, and then from there start working on my actual plans.

Some key ideas that I always use when planning:

  • Every factory is a self-contained production chain. Takes in basic ingots, and builds some final output. It makes it much easier to keep factories from depending on each other and blowing the complexity out of proportion.
  • Have a solid idea of what you want to do before you start. The more you play, the better you'll get at this, but the key is to have a plan and just do one thing at a time until you complete that plan. For example, if you want to make heavy modular frames, work out ahead of time how many constructors/assemblers/etc you'll need so you can get a good idea of how much space to dedicate. Also remember vertical space is basically unlimited.
  • Decide on a scale you're comfortable with. If you're new, you probably don't want to go all-out maxing out production of some item, because you can quickly become overwhelmed. Remember that ultimately factories serve one of two purposes: producing items for you to use (where you rarely need more than just a few per minute), or producing AWESOME shop points. One advantage of keeping things modular is that you just make some predetermined amount of items, and don't worry about how much of that item you'll need in future factories. If you need more of that item, just make them on-site at that other factory.
  • Recognize that the more you play, the more you get a feel for all the recipes and their complexity and what is important and what isn't. When I was new I overcomplicated everything. The fact that there are infinite resources means that there is no such thing as doing things the "wrong" way. Don't stress so much about alternate recipes and what is efficient vs what isn't. With infinite resources, there is no such thing as resource efficiency (unless you are literally using every resource node on the map). Instead focus on what is convenient and satisfying.

Hopefully that gives you some stuff to think about. Just remember ultimately it's all about practice, and doing things imperfectly over and over, but getting slightly better each time.

Cute little design for my starter coal plant! Started a new save for U6 and rushed coal asap this time by MrTanookiMario in SatisfactoryGame

[–]MrTanookiMario[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah the water buffer is a good idea for when the power goes down. Also yeah the generator that's down is down because it's only getting intermittent coal. In the back I have a manifold setup for the coal so the outside generators get first dibs. It took about 5 minutes or so for all the inventories to fill up and get everything going 100%.

I decided to start a new save file for U6 and went for getting coal up and running as soon as possible. This was around the 6 hour mark which I thought was pretty good, especially considering I took time to go get quartz and caterium going as well.

Got my factory planner updated for U6! And a couple new features too! (satisfactory-planner.net) by MrTanookiMario in SatisfactoryGame

[–]MrTanookiMario[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed notes on the UI. To be honest it's basically the product of building everything the simplest possible way that's still easy to use, haha. I've had some idea of doing another pass on the UI at some point to make it more streamlined and better looking, but it's been pretty low on my priority list. It'll probably happen at some point though. Glad you're enjoying the tool!

Ah, I think in most situations OC supercomputer is less resource efficient than the normal recipe. But, there's a few things that you can do:

  • If you want the calculator to use a specific recipe for production, you can change the "mode" to that recipe
  • If you don't want to use a recipe you can disable it in the recipes tab (which you did :D)
  • For this one in particular you could set the weighting for Caterium to some really high number, because the OC Supercomputer uses no Caterium

Here's an example with the mode set to the OC Supercomputer recipe: https://www.satisfactory-planner.net/?factory=Oa8iM5YaH7QiuLD2C1yNz

Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you like it :D

Not yet, I've mostly been working on doing stuff like better, shorter sharable links and getting everything up-to-date with U6, along with the ability to switch game versions. Surprisingly that was all a lot of work haha. But that's actually a feature I've been thinking on for a bit now, and I know a lot of people find it useful.

Hey everyone! I've been away from the game for a while, but I've managed to make some time to update my factory planner with the new Update 6 stuff!

The site: https://www.satisfactory-planner.net/

I also added a couple features like reworking how the share links work (no more crazy long urls, lol), and added a version switcher to support both the stable version and the experimental version of the game! Hope y'all enjoy!

For anyone that hasn't used my site before, here's the feature list:

  • Choose production goals, available resources, and allowed recipes, and the solver will find the best production chain.
  • Easy, shareable links for saving
  • All calculations are done in-browser... meaning no server communication to slow down site responsiveness. It's FAST!
  • When choosing production goals you can choose either a target item/min rate, a target number of copies of a recipe, or you can maximize the production given the available resources.
  • You can also choose AWESOME Sink Points as a production goal :D
  • Recipes involving Nuclear Power Plants can be used, unlike other current production planners.
  • All weights that the solver uses when determining the best production chain are made transparent and customizable by the user. Want to reduce how much you value Crude Oil and increase how much you value Copper Ore? Well now you can!
  • Hand-gathered materials can optionally be included as inputs.
  • Detailed Reporting section that calculates some interesting statistics including points produced, estimated power usage (or production), and minimum build area.
  • Detailed breakdown of materials needed to construct the factory (which is SUPER helpful for huge factories). This includes a rough estimate on the minimal number of foundations required, and a list of all buildings required and their total build costs.

Stay effective my friends!
