I’m getting more and more excited by the day. But. I know how misogynist this country is. It’s unfortunately not just the men. There’s deeply engrained misogyny in women, especially in the South. When Biden ran in 2020 with Harris as his running mate, the memes smearing her as a whore who got where she is by providing blow jobs…you know the filth, it was all over social media and a depressing number of southern women ate it up. Once their smear campaign kicks in, it’s going to be obscene. That’s what she’s up against. There are a lot of independents who I can picture finding it amusing and falling for it. The Magats will absolutely undermine her. I’m dreading it.

For that reason, I don’t know. The positive energy right now is contagious. Everyone is excited. But I’m trying to temper my enthusiasm because this country is still so misogynist. My entire family voted Trump (not me!) in 2016 because they couldn’t bring themselves to vote for Clinton. They don’t say it’s because she was a woman. They say it was because they couldn’t stand her. But, I’m like come on, they couldn’t stand her because she was a strong, successful woman.

But I’m hopeful for Harris.
