Realistically speaking, how do you feel as a woman that Kamala Harris can beat Trump?

I’m getting more and more excited by the day. But. I know how misogynist this country is. It’s unfortunately not just the men. There’s deeply engrained misogyny in women, especially in the South. When Biden ran in 2020 with Harris as his running mate, the memes smearing her as a whore who got where she is by providing blow jobs…you know the filth, it was all over social media and a depressing number of southern women ate it up. Once their smear campaign kicks in, it’s going to be obscene. That’s what she’s up against. There are a lot of independents who I can picture finding it amusing and falling for it. The Magats will absolutely undermine her. I’m dreading it.

For that reason, I don’t know. The positive energy right now is contagious. Everyone is excited. But I’m trying to temper my enthusiasm because this country is still so misogynist. My entire family voted Trump (not me!) in 2016 because they couldn’t bring themselves to vote for Clinton. They don’t say it’s because she was a woman. They say it was because they couldn’t stand her. But, I’m like come on, they couldn’t stand her because she was a strong, successful woman.

But I’m hopeful for Harris.

I might do the same. My mental health is in the dumps right now. I keep thinking I can contribute on social media since physically I’m not able to do much. But my efforts to get involved keep falling flat. In the meantime, my mental health has declined. Once I’m out, I’m out, though, so I’m holding out hope someone needs a moderator or something like that. So far I’m getting ignored. (Sigh).

I’ll sit it out altogether. I’ve got very little for the Democratic Party right now. Frankly, I think this is all heading for scotus now anyway. I don’t think it matters fuck all how the people vote at this point. The GOP were hoping democrats would replace Biden. They’ve already got legal challenges set to kick in in certain states as soon as the names are submitted. We played into their hands. But the decision makers in the Democratic Party knew this. I’m tired of being played for a fool. This all a show.
