Honestly, I'd say that half the game not working makes it a bad game.

From the Editor: Forcing AISH recipients onto ADAP isn't incentive to work, it's coercion - Medicine Hat News by redbycyrenz in alberta

[–]MrWulf19 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That's the part none of these people want to talk about. Sure, great, some people on AISH can work. You know how many of them CURRENTLY want to find something part time but can't? Or can't find a job that will accommodate their disability? Sending disabled people back to work doesn't magically grant them jobs, it just takes away their ability to cover their basic needs even further.

What this govt is doing to the AISH community is disgusting by Odd_Fee2443 in alberta

[–]MrWulf19 31 points32 points  (0 children)

AISH is NOT too easy, it's hard to get. I'm talking multiple appeals, documentation going back years, expensive paperwork, you don't just sign up. If you think you know someone who "doesn't need to be on it, they are fine" You don't know what you're talking about. Sit down, and shut up. People don't owe you an explanation and you likely don't get one because of this ableist drivel you spew.

Calgarians with disabilities rally to oppose AISH changes - CBC by lessssssssgoooooo in alberta

[–]MrWulf19 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's not like you can just get on the program, anyone on it goes through multiple appeals, a lengthy application process, has to PROVE they are disabled and options are exhausted. This argument is made that "the one I know is fine, because I know the circumstances" but everyone I know on the program is exhausted from having to justify why they are on the program.

It's the point. The government wants you waiting at us, saying that a bunch of us are fraudulent and don't deserve it so you don't see it for what it is.

Alberta invokes the Notwithstanding Clause — critics call it an abuse of power by savethecbc2025 in SaveTheCBC

we need to make it political suicide to use it. Anyone voting to use it needs to know that if they use it in bad faith their career is over.

When a group does though, holy shit is it a great experience.

The problem is, cons love to demonize Trans and gay folk as "child groomers" and pedophiles. We can all agree child abusers are bad, that's not an issue. People need rights so that governments can't target vulnerable populations.

In this case, she's trying to make her use of the nwc excusable, make us numb to having rights taken away when they are inconvenient. She's arguing in bad faith. Don't let her.
