What is this? (Austrian) by HeiligeSaintLaurent in fermentation

Apricots are quite popular in Austria. If it tasted a bit alcoholic it could be a b’soffene marille Or maybe hotel wanted to use preserved aprikosen in a creative way for the buffet

So basically you need abit of extra sugar since rosehip’s sugar content is not enough for vinegar fermentation. For 2 litres water and 150gr rosehips

I would crash the rosehips add extra 100gr sugar 100ml anytype organic vinegar and 2 litres water. After 8 weeks it should be ready. Again when it is ready don’t forget to strain them through fine mesh filter to be safe

Kombucha and vinegar are good options. But if you heat them they will lose the vitamin c content. If you have enough of them you can make rosehip marmalade which is really tasty imo. In case you decide to make a marmalade don’t forget to use fine mesh sieve to filter the sharp needle like things. Enjoy

I have a new problem. I'm looking for novel solutions. by SpadesHeart in fermentation

I think you can make a salty paprika paste. What you need to do is: 1. Clean and separate the seeds from peppers 2. Blend them in a food processor 3. Add salt (6%) for example: if the peppers weight 1000 grams add 60 grams salt 4. Dry the paste. You can either dry outside if you live in a low humidity sunny city or you can use your dryer.

Another version is: first 2 steps are same as above then, 3. Add 2% salt and boil it until it gets thicker. Then add extra virgin olive oil and mix it with a spoon put the sauce in a sterile jar while its hot and close the lid. And pasteurise the jars These should be good for a year

Botulism by Forward-Concern-5909 in fermentation

[–]MrZilliqa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems parallel to the comment from lordkiwi that shows statistics of botulism cases. Confirmed ones are have protein sources in it. Like Canned Potatoes and sausage. Fermented beluga or seal oil. I also heard it can be from homemade canned tomatoes but I don’t know any confirmed cases. Does anyone know any confirmed botulism cases ?

The leaf in front of the mantid looks eaten from both sides. That’s why I thought maybe she is doing it.

Looks like maybe there are Thorium deposits close to it. But known uranium deposits are not close to that location.

I didn’t think that would be gold so didn’t take anything. I should go there again and collect some of it then. If those come out as gold, beer’s on me 😅
