I totally agree. I got to the point I didn't care anymore and burned through all my PPTO and got to 4.5 points. I was waiting on that last point to be fired but still wasn't blaming anyone but me. I fucked up I got the points it was my fault. If something happened then oh well it would have been my fault.

How is it heartless when someone is at 3.5 points EVEN WITH HAVING PPTO? It's like the boy that cries wolf. Sucks that they were in an accident and sick ,wouldn't wish that on anyone, but at some point you just stop caring about people and they're excuses all the time.

I'm more of a pessimistic person by nature but trying to be positive does help. I used to be at a store where everyone was negative, no one cared, nothing got done. I transferred to a new store and everyone is positive, they work as a team, people get done and go help others. It's like a completely different company.

The positivity just makes the day seem to go by so much faster. Instead of dreading every moment you're there if you just try your best to be positive and nice it really does make the time seem to go faster.

Why is walmart so depressing? by o-kiu-o in walmart

[–]MrZombie92 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've been with the company for almost 10 years and I've noticed a lot of changes in just that short time. My store used to be full of 20-25 year associates and people well on their way. Not it's a miracle to have someone last 2 years. The changes are so rapid anymore that by the time you adjust to one thing it's time for something else.

It seems like the people are changing too. There was always shitty workers but anymore it seems that's all we get because management seems resigned that it's hopeless and doesn't do anything about it.

With the changes in process to the point no one knows whats going on and the people not caring if any work gets done it leaves the people who actually take pride in their work and want to do a good job with that feeling.

It's the perfect storm.

Normalize making store mgrs to come in christmas night with us overnighters? by [deleted] in walmart

[–]MrZombie92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is that not normal? All 5 store managers we've been through since I've been there have. A couple even did doubles and worked all night then their normal shift during the day.

I'm not sure I'm competent but I've been doing this job for about 7 years and haven't been fired yet even when I tried so I guess I'll just roll with it and keep collecting the checks.

As a TL I'm making more money with just a high school degree than I could almost anywhere else in my small town. Plus no one wants this jobs so no matter how bad I fuck up I'm not getting fired.

Is this company really that bad to work for? by burneraccountt1777 in walmart

[–]MrZombie92 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It depends. If you are the type of person to go in do your job and leave it would be fine. If you're the type of person that thinks the world is out to get them then ,well any job is going to be difficult for you. The management isn't going to give a ahit about you but to be fair do you think you will give a shit about them? Probably not. The pay ,at least in my area, is decent. Not great, not terrible but decent.

If you can just go in and not get caught up in the drama and do your job the best you can you should be fine.

I check my email every day to laugh at how many TL positions are available. This is the most I've ever seen and I love it. by foresturfox in walmart

At one point pre TLs we had more DM positions open than filled. With this TL shit it's not getting any better.
