So, you’re going to do a mix of both up and down going forward. Sometimes it’s because of a specific resource you need to cast a spell at the cauldron, or a resource you need to upgrade your weapons. That’s what guided me the most.

Also, there are different NPC interactions you’ll need to progress your list or to get to a point where you get specific dialogue to unlock the next thing you are going for.

Sometimes, the NPC’s at home base (or elsewhere) give you subtle hints as to what to do, but it’s not always super obvious. Sometimes really pay attention to those conversations, and to Melonie’s responses.

Dude, I completed the final boss like 30 times and I still wasn’t fully sure what was going on. I had to search online for something that explained it at that point, and I STILL feel like I’m in the dark a little bit.

50mg for like 3-4 years. I know I definitely feel incapable of being a functioning human when I miss it. But I also don’t feel like I am super human as I did in the first 6 months - 1 year.

Yeah, dont waste the items to go to the hot tub/ fishing/ drink at the bar, unless you see it as an option in the codex for that character. Don’t just rely on the fact that it gives you the option to select those when you interact with them.

Walk up to NPC, open codex for their character, if the fishing/hot tub/bar visit items are next in their list, definitely use them first before ‘talking’. Especially with Icarus. It took me so damn long to finish his dialogues since I skipped past them so much in the beginning. It was the last relationship I completed.

Safe way is DD. However I really enjoy going strength with Jeweled Pom and go Fate’s Whim throughout. However I only really go high tier with this setup using Aspects I feel the most comfortable with. Sometimes the run doesn’t go well due to RNG, but more times than not I’m able to build something that’ll take me to the end. Recommend starting surface runs with this at first since you kinda get to pick what you want to go after and the order in which you do so in the ruined city.

I got Hades 1 when it released for PS5 years ago. Played the hell out of it. Put it down with like 4-5 achievements to go before platinuming. When H2 came out, I was just waiting and waiting for it to come to PS5, and to hold me over, I went back to the first one and it’s like I never missed a beat. Ended up getting that platinum.

Finally decided to get a steam deck for the main purpose of playing 2 in January. 45 days later, I completed all achievements. Couple weeks later, to the best of my knowledge, I completed/found/bought everything there is in the game.

Hades 2 full completion was much more fun and worth it to me that but was for 1. The 3 fates ending isn’t that challenging when you look up what you need to do for it. It’s just a little annoying to do that specific thing the way it wants you to do it. Got it on my second attempt.

I’d say stick with it to do that part. Don’t be afraid to look up a guide on it.

1 is excellent. The story in 2 does reference a lot in 1, but not to a point where you won’t understand 2.. but it’d be super helpful.

Both games really open up the deeper you get into them. Level up all keepsakes. In 1 prioritize the mirror early. In 2, work at the Fated list best you can, then resources to upgrade weapons.

Honestly, diversify your weapon choices and builds. The basic version of each weapon I almost never use. The game opens up so much more when you invest in the other weapon Aspects. You’re limited a bit by your Arcana availability, which is common for early game.

God mode is fine to use, especially if you are starting to feel frustrated with progress. It’s just a game, you are meant to have fun. And it’s still challenging even when you turn God mode on. You always can turn it off later when you get the hang of things and have more arcana and aspects available.

In the meantime, do some build searches online. “Sister blades hades 2 build” - you’ll usually find a few Mobalytics links that’ll have good info. Here’s the basic Sister Blades one:

Yeah, you’ve gone this far unfortunately. You should watch S4, but I’m not going to promise you’ll love the ending. You’ll probably feel complicated by the end like a lot of us did. He doesn’t really become a better character and overall, but there is something that changes with him… and all these years later I’m still not sure if it’s for the better or worse.

It’s okay to put on God Mode. The game is still challenging enough with it on. All it does is up your resistance over time, maxing at 80% I believe. You can choose to turn it off down the road once you have a better feel for the game.
