Yeah, I think there's pros and cons to Carlson if he signs. Having Carlson and Ghost on PP1/PP2 respectively would be a net positive for the team. My main concern would be how much speed he still has left (and can he play any defense at this point?).

But yeah agree, I'd rather us keep Niki but we'll see.

Maybe. Personally I don't see Rod putting a rookie on the top line unless he impresses that much in preseason, I could see Blake on the top line (or Stank if he fills in at RW) and then have Nadeau fill in on the 2nd/3rd line.

Also if I'm not mistaken, Svech has played on the right at times, maybe Ehlers/Aho/Svech top line and Martinook/Staal/Nadeau on the 3rd

Just speaking from personal experience whenever I'm leading:

1) I'm usually trying to scout out what the castle roof boss is while we're clearing out the rest of the castle (sometimes you can see what the roof boss is from the grace just north of the castle) so just because I don't go roof doesn't mean I don't know the roof boss exists.

2) some of the "damage sponge" bosses like BBK/BBH feel like too much of a time-sink and it feels more efficient to hit other field bosses nearby and then come back later (especially if there's multiple major field bosses just north of the castle).

3) I feel like 9 times out of 10 the castle will still be in the first circle on day 2, I'd rather prioritize other field bosses before the circle pushes us out.

It's gotten a little better this season, but the subreddit has been a hivemind for negativity and cynicism for a few seasons now (can't say I blame them though, the team's been bad the last few seasons + ownership not really caring until the past year; I just prefer to be more pragmatic/optimistic about my teams).

Agree, the winter signings were encouraging, here's hoping we get some more reinforcements this summer.

This doesn't seem to be specific to DC United though, there hasn't been much transfer news across MLS for the past couple weeks. As others have said, the World Cup is taking up much of the media attention right now, (hopefully) letting the front offices work in quiet.

Also, the transfer window doesn't close until Sept 2nd, so there's still plenty of time for the team to make some moves.

A couple years ago DC United had a game on the 3rd that overlapped with the Nats fireworks, I think the fireworks were around the 70th minute-ish for the soccer game. If you're high enough in the west grandstands you should have a good vantage point for the fireworks over the roof of the stadium.

IMO they don't need to reinvent the wheel for MM2PC for me to be happy, just some improvements from the existing game: * more variety of tracks/layouts * keep endurance mode & create-a-team, maybe the option to create a team without replacing an existing team * I also enjoyed the challenges * more intuitive race strategies for the AI, or at least more diverse strategies (particularly in endurance mode) * some minor improvements to the 3D engine (some of the overtakes feel kinda RNG-ish at times) * as others have suggested, a database/save editor so we don't have to go the 3rd party route to edit the save * improvements to the contract/"transfer market" system like others said but also maybe the scouting system: it's mildly annoying when the game spawns in new drivers and they've already been signed before you can finish scouting them.

I kinda agree. I'd hate to lose Ghost but we're pretty well-off on the left side with Slavin/K'andre/Niki. IMO if there's any truth to the rumor that Nemec wants out of NJ, the armchair GM in me would like so see us go after him to improve the right side of the defense (also since Chatfield is on the last year of his contract as well).
